A good example is Rude Boy. Rated R was dying and then suddenly the song smashed hard (at least in the US), but it still didn't save the album. In fact Rude Boy isn't even a good example, that was a #1 song, GUY will be lucky to even go top30...

Would Prism be selling 30k a week if Dark Horse wasn't smashing? In reality, for a generally new album with a huge #1 smash single, you could argue that Prism should be selling a lot more.
G.U.Y could have the same affect on AP. Although they'd be smart to discount it permanently on iTunes. $15 is way too high for this album
