No. I would like to doubt that. I am sure Mariah doesn't want have anything to do with Tommy anymore, let alone have a good cry with him.

This reminds me -- nobody talked about it 'cus I don't think much people know about it.

I was reading through some old Magazine archive one day from 1991 (around Emotions) and there was an article that Mariah's step-father was suing her.

That means her mom shortly got re-married then. But the suing reason was over something stupid I think.

He came into their life, when she got famous tried to sue, then left since her mom is obvs single now.

Her pre-fame life was so messy.

I've been thinking about this, too, maybe the world tour is just want she needs? Get away from all the drama at home and get reencouragement from her massive fan base in Asia? Not the worst thing she can do tbh. Of course doing a world tour is strenuous but often there a few days in between the concerts. I think it might even energize her and make her bethink herself of her own strength again.

Apparently the lack of promotion was not only due to the mismanagement of her dilettantish team but because there was a lot going on behind the curtain. If Nick and Mariah have lived seperated for months now she sure has thought about what is right for them and for her and what she is going to do next. A tour has been up for discussion for a long time, the fact that is going to happen this fall probably means she actually wants to do it now. And I can only hope it is going to help her make it through.

I agree Sissy. I think she wants to get away from it all and really just focus on her career and be under the embrace of her fans. I think it'll be good for her especially since she's been dealing with what we're just finding out for months. It puts everything into perspective.

I also think Cry. is about Tommy. I think the reason why it's the opening track is Mariah letting out all those 'emotions' and the period in the song title represents 'That's that. We're not gonna go back to this. Full stop. Moving on...' And then she doesn't look back at those moments again in the album.

If that makes sense? Well anyway, it's my theory and that's why Mariah does these things - to keep us wondering.
