BoA recently said this in an interview a couple of days ago. Some stans have taken this comment pretty hard and find it extremely shady. What do yall think about this? Let's have a little discussion

Haha, I was actually gonna bring this up to get the thread going

I think some Namie stans on other forums are overreacting about it. If anything it's a compliment to Namie.
She's basically saying since Namie wasn't as hot at the time of BoA's J-Pop debut she was the only real singer-dancer on the scene which was the reason Japan took a liking to her.
If anything she's aknowledging the fact that had Namie still been hot at the time it would've made it harder for her to breakthrough. That's how I see it anyway.

I don't mean cartoon songs, but the general style of the music? It doesn't have to be Utada either. I hope that this is the right place to ask this because i'm certainly risking considerable judgment right now.

There's actually a Japanese version of that Utada song, it actually came out before the English one.

Hmm Simple & Clean / Hikari is so unique, but I guess Colors has a similar vibe.



The other is just a standard pop rock song my favorite J-pop rock song is Yui's Life, but it has female vocals.

Unfortunately J-Pop labels aren't as generous as K-Pop labels are.
We have a hard time getting them to upload full videos in HD on youtube let alone putting music up on iTunes

Your better off getting J-Pop music from Asian music blogs or joining t.o.r.r.e.n.t. sites like JPopSuki.

But if you want any music, especially Namie since I have her entire discography on my comp. I can upload them. Just let me know

Japan isn't friendly to letting their music and entertainment be accessible out of the country. And they have strict copyright laws so they'll pull anything they can find. So you're gonna have to look in...less than legal ways for a lot of stuff.

I'd say Utada is the shadiest of all the divas. But thats not saying much.
