I think artists have flop moments in their career. When their chart performance is far from everything they've done before.

But the word "flop" has a different meaning here on ATRL

I think people sometimes use the word "Flop" just when they hate an artist.

For example, Christina Aguilera Bionic was a flop, because 200,000 copies sold for a Pop Mainstream Artist with multi-platinum albums is dissapoiting.

But for example when people said The Time was a flop that was just haiting... the song peaked at #4 and sold 3 million copies...

Just because they had 3 #1s with The END and one of them is the most downloaded song ever.

But TT chart performance is great for any artist in the music industry.

So, i guess if with her next album Katy doesn't get all those #1s again people will be saying she's a flop.
