Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son
In the third installment of the Big Mommas [House] films, Martin Laurence goes in the fat suit again but this time brings his son along. The movie goes a little slow at first.. like the first 15 minutes are all just a little action, a tiny bit of comedy, and the introduction to his son. When it actually gets to where they are in the suits, it starts getting a bit better. After drama, a few laughs, and an ending with plenty of action and the revealing that they are actually males, the movie ends. I was really impressed with 'Big Mommas House 2', where the laughs were ON BLAST and if you hated that movie - you don't have much of a sense of humor at all. This is pretty much a watered down, diet version of that movie.. the laughs were limited and a bit dry, especially comparing it to BMH2, but it seems that in this film - the ACTION is actually better than the comedy, and due to me not being interested in action movies that much, made this one the worst out of the three. The trailer looked hilarious, but sadly.. a good amount of the laughs in the trailer, were the only laughs in the movie. But overall.. I have to admit I was pretty entertained throughout most of the movie, even though when it ended I was disappointed. I had way too high expectations after leaving the amazing BMH2 and thought with the addition of the son, which was a great plot, would make the movie better also. It's not terrible, but it's not amazing, but still worth a watch.
OVERALL SUMMARY: "It's not terrible, and it's not amazing, but still worth a watch. Fans of the Big Momma [House] movies, or comedy fans in general, will think it's either a hit or miss. It's doesn't deliver much in the comedy, but delivers the best action out of the three movies.. but it's labeled as a COMEDY, so obviously that's not what we're looking forward to."
