No, it's not the original. Billboard explained the differences between the two:

"On first listen, it doesn't sound too different. In 2010:
Lady Gaga won BPVA and was nominated in AOTY.
In 2011:
Adele won BPVA, she also won AOTY.
In 2012
fun. was nominated in both categories but they lost both of them
In 2013:
None of the albums in BPVA was nominated in AOTY.

So I guess there is a 50/50 chance and anything can happen.

Sting won over AOTY nominee Backstreet Boys.

Kelly Clarkson won over AOTY nominees Gwen Stefani and Paul McCartney.

2013:
Kelly Clarkson won over AOTY nominees fun.


Kelly Clarkson has been so lucky in this category despite of never been nominated for AOTY.
