I already managed to catch Suicune, Ho-Oh, Raikou and Lugia with a few Ultra Balls. Entei seems to be the last option.

It will play on both but you only need a DSi.

The 3DS plays normal DS games as well as 3DS games.

I remember way back in Gold, I used it on a Wobbuffet that wouldn't stay in a normal ball.

Since then I only use it on the roaming Pokemon.

Pokémon Blue doesn't have Day/Night, just like LG/FR.
It shouldn't be a problem to migrate Pokémon though, I recently migrated some Pokémon to Pearl and my internal battery is also dead
