People diminish the Queen of Pop title and think it's only a matter of scoring many hits or selling millions of albums , etc .But it goes so much further than that !
Madonna did not become the Legend that she is now ONLY because of her numbers but because of who she is as a professional , taking deep care of every little aspect of her career 
That's one of the reasons why so many have tried but NO ONE ever got remotely close to where she is or what she represents !

This. This 'bitch' image wasn't something she picked up along the way, we can see that already in Truth or Dare. Aside stating the obvious like a dead horse, she literally changed the course for females and large parts of the music industry (concerts, videos, image, fashion etc.) and it was all calculated. Even when she has a project that gets backlash (Erotica, American Life etc) she knows how to spin things around and work things into her favour for the next era/project.
I could really go on about all the small things about Madonna that really impress me, but it's her impressive resilience to fade away from the public eye. She's built such a long brand for herself it's impossible for someone to say they don't know who Madonna is. Everyone has a 'Madonna moment' that they could pick out something from her career at any given point. She's has
actual iconic moments in film, live concerts, music videos, live TV performances, fashion etc.
