In one of her unauthorized biographies, the author talks to Pat Leonard about making Like a Prayer (the album) and how it was like.
He said he was SO amazed at how Madonna was so precise and sharp/adamant about every little thing she wanted /did not want (sonically speaking). He went on to say how people like to diminish her contributions when it comes to making her own albums and how surprised/shocked , they'd be if they ever get the chance to head into a studio with her.
He obviously also talked about how much of a perfectionist she is and how that, sometimes , is a pain in the ass .
But said that, in the end, when everything is finished , it really pays off because you get to see how she is generally 99% right !
