Because the bar is set so low for pop girls, especially the untalented ones like Lady Gaga or Ariana Grande, so when they do something mind-numbingly unimpressive, like stand still and sing a ballad, everyone forgets for a second that the performance is monotonous and bland and, instead, decides to praise the tedious performance as a knee-jerk reaction.
I never fall for it.
