It's actually very clever when you think about it.
Cause they couldn't compare anyone else's performance to Beyonce, they compare her old ones to her new ones. kiii
And it would work if not for the fact that she incorporated "props", "visuals", and "theater", like they always wanted her to. But somehow her doing a Janet breakdown on top of her regular dance/sing routine is a "better" performance.
