beyonce is an interesting "legend" because she hasn't done anything particularly new or mind-blowing, but neither have her peers
she's amazing at what she does and looks like a superhero compared to the current crop of girls we have
but i do wonder how she'll be viewed in the future. certain people always get "left behind" by pop culture even if it's not deserved. will she be a diana ross type of celeb/icon but without the messy personal life? known for going solo after leaving a girl group?
britney will be remembered for her breakdown and lip-synching, rihanna for everything with chris brown and her bigger songs, idk about katy, pink will be respected for her talent and still popping up in random places (cyndi lauper tea), taylor will be remembered in the US because her fanbase is lowkey huge. gaga will probably be forgotten by everyone who isn't obsessed with pop culture, unless she manages to turn things around.
personally, i expect beyonce to be remembered for her family. her, jay, and blue. the extremely talented mother of a (future) socialite. but none of us can predict the future, so who knows what songs and career moments will be referenced for her. i said this earlier, but every pop legend who debuted in the 80's has at least one HUGE messy career moment. and that's how most people know them.
mariah is an exception imo. i learned about mariah because of emancipation/we belong together. maybe beyonce will do something similar and manage to have a hit song in 10+ years. that would make her relevant among another generation. this is all so weird to think about though. ugh
