Challenge #10 - Speeches - Judges Comments
Bloomers / Drake
collin - I really love how modest you have been throughout this game. For you, it's not about being paid attention to through wacko antics or being the "biggest mess" in order to promote Drake. And it's also always concise and to-the-point. That being said, you make it a bit easy to be grazed over by other entries and ideas and other fans often seem a bit more dedicated than you... but that's only how it SEEMS. Another thing to potentially note is the fact that when I see your name, the first thought I have isn't necessarily "Drake" (although it's definitely one of). You have proven yourself as a huge fan and a well-deserved member of the ATRL Elite if I do say so myself.
Zune - I thought your speech was simplistic and sweet. I liked how it was focused on your efforts and had an added sense of dedication (like plugging the new music he's releasing right now). I would have liked to see more of reasons why you deserve to win this game, since I felt that was missing from your speech for the most part.
Prometheus. - Amateur & Genuine.
I loved your entry, do not get me wrong, it just didn't feel strong enough to persuade me into choosing you & Drake as the winner. I loved the topics you touched on and didn't make yourself sound too cocky, but I think you could have been winner or at least my personal top 2 if you had just a little bit more CONFIDENCE, not cockiness. I also like how you make it feel like Drake is our friend, I feel as if I've gotten to know Drake really well in this competition and it's all due to the way you write. You don't write like anyone else in this competition, and that is a compliment and a half.
Cupid - This was very short and sweet. It's clear that you really have a passion for Drake and I think you articulate yourself very well, not just in this speech but across the forum as a whole. My only concern is that you didn't really answer the two questions I set out, you just kind of went your own way with it.
iHype. / Mariah Carey
collin - Alright, ma'am. The tea is all true. You are literally synonymous with Mariah on this forum and if this game has proven anything to me, it's that you're one of the most dedicated stans, especially lambs, that exist out there. Congratulations, your hard work has paid off and will continue to do so.
Zune - Although I might have approached this final speech a bit differently, I think overall the goal was to convince the judges why you are the best fan of your artist and why you deserve to win (technically you won Create a Label All Stars).
However aside from little things here and there, your points on certain threads and knowledge of Mariah has shown you have truly sold yourself well in this entry more then your previous ones before might I add. Excellent job
Prometheus. - Cocky & Uninteresting.
Cool receipts and cool threads you made. But you come off so cocky that I found this whole entry annoying to read. I acknowledge your entry as looking cute on the surface and having a nice little layout. You didn't keep me interested. Confidence will get you further than cockiness, and I felt this entry was one big "**** you if you don't think I'm #1". Not relatable at all, but sorry you haven't won a Game yet. I hope you don't think I hate you as a poster or anything of the sort, I just don't think this entry is a great representation of you.
Cupid - As always, your speech was very receipt based. You really have proven your Mariah knowledge and then some throughout this game. This is like the complete opposite of Bloomers entry, you really came out fighting. As usual I love the way you back everything up with facts. The only concern is that you might be bordering on cocky like Prometheus suggested, maybe it could do with a slight tone down. But there isn't really much to argue with here.
Subomie / Kylie Minogue
collin - I've very much so enjoyed you being in this game and think you rightfully deserve coming this far, so congratulations! You taught me a lot about Kylie (when will Cupid ) and really actually drew me in a lot. And you never really had any "weak" areas where it seemed like you weren't really an amazing stan. You were solid, maybe not always on top, but always serving, low-key at the very least. Great work this season!
Zune - Subomie: I think your length of your speech was needed in this round so good for you doing that. As for your speech, I felt an added sense of "I'm an underdog and I might be able to outshine Cupid, a Kylie stan". My problem was for your speech, I wasn't convinced enough to be a better stan then Cupid, so I wish you left him out of it and just focused on the speech at hand.For that it costed my score because if you cannot show your better then another member, then how can I even consider you the best stan of Kylie?
Bit ruthless my bad. I think you have the quantities of knowledge about Kylie from what I saw in the thread and post challenges to made this speech more conhesive and truly sell to the judges why you should win this competition.
Prometheus. - Concise & Well-Executed
Hands down the best entry yet. You weren't cocky, but you weren't gonna let people tread on you. One thing I found interesting is that you said your favorite albums were pre-2000, but 6/8 studio albums you have are post-2000. I loved how the entry felt very singular to you and kept me interested in all the points you were bringing up. It was a very professional entry and I loved every second of it.
Cupid - This was one of the most genuine speeches for me. I really enjoyed all the personal touches you added to the speech, like the picture of your collection, not as big as mine but hey.
You also made some great points and had some good receipts, you have been a pretty consistent player throughout. Out of all speeches, this was probably the most enjoyable to read.
Truth Teller / Christina Aguilera
collin - Ugh, you are such a good fan. You leave me speechless all the time. Mostly because if I needed to say anything at all, ever, you already have said it Anyways, it's been great having you in this game to judge. Always a highlight and a gem, you are. All Xtina stans should look up to the level of dedication you have.
Zune - I really enjoyed the flow and breakdown of your speech. I think you could have dedicated more to why you should win the game for yourself and have shown what you have done in the game to deserve to win this. Pretty nice speech for the most part
Prometheus. - Relatable & Risky
I love this entry and I loved how it felt like such a true finale. I felt nostalgia to earlier rounds and even earlier Christina albums. I loved how in this contest, you continuously took risks with your choices, bad or good, you still took a risk, and that is applaudable. I love how you showed your confidence at a good and healthy amount. This entry is very relatable and respectable. Great job
Cupid - You've been the dark horse of the competition for me. Consistently good whilst flying under the radar. However I'm kind of disappointed with this speech. It comes off a little too, "stan" but not in a good way. You seem quite guarded with your views about Xtina, it's hard to explain but it's like those members who lurk in SYG and are like 'my fav is the best, whatever u say is wrong' DMF tea's. I think an elite fan should have the ability to discuss their artists shortcomings and not have those rose-tinted stan glasses. Having said that I loved the personal touches and overall you did write a pretty good speech.
