Reinvention, I'm taking this from the Essentials thread because it is pointless bumping a rate that is over.
I'm not stanning out of nostalgia. I'm stanning out of taste. Just because music is old doesn't mean that nostalgia is why people like it. I wasn't born in the 80s and I didn't even develop any sort of music taste until the mid 2000s. I feel no nostalgia for the 80s other than admiring some of the artistic output of the time period. I like it because it is immaculately made pop music. I love music spanning back into the 1950s because it is good to recognize that there is great music in all eras and it is fun to rediscover that music when the current music scene has a lull.
I shouldn't have to defend her 80s output every day just because it is old and ATRL doesn't like old things. It remains some of the most acclaimed and highest selling pop music of all time. All of her diamond albums are 80s material and the 80s hits get the biggest reactions at her tours to this day.
