It might sound like I'm an unapologetic bitch
But sometime you know I gotta call it like it is

You know you never really knew how much you loved me 'til you lost me
Did you?
It shouldn't be about her being white at all!! What is so hard to understand? Stop saying "taking up spots" in the Rap category as if her skin colour makes her unworthy
What FAME means is that Iggy is only getting these praises, Grammy nominations, etc. because she's white. If she had been black releasing the same exact material, she probably wouldn't be getting all this praise.
It kinda does. "Black" music is always more accessible when it's done by a white person. But I don't see anyone dragging Adele or Sam Smith when black soul singers are struggling on the charts.
And when she was popping with 1991 she LOVED white people lol.
She even said something once about European culture being the best in the world or something. I'm paraphrasing here.
How things change in a year.
Honestly I can see why her and Interscope/Gaga just didn't work out
I'm even warming up to Bitch I'm Madonna, lets hope Madead never performs this song so we can disassociate it from the fact that is a song by a 50y/o+ wrinkly corpse.
I really wonder what went down with the Azealia, Lana, Gaga Interscope backstory.
Was "Ratchet" a real thing?
BTW Madonna's on Interscope. Weird that they're all labelmates and work with the same execs.
It's interesting because Gaga "allegedly" is crazy hard to work with but obviously not as bad as Azealia because Stefani sold out (and still flopped hehe).
Yeah right? Its amazing how accessible they all are to each other
People (white, black, or otherwise) will always identify with/gravitate toward their own when they see one of them doing well (a hit song(s), critical acclaim, unusually talented, sustainage) at something minorities normally dominate. See: Adele phenomenon, Norah Jones phenomenon, Sam Smith phenomenon, Eminem phenomenon. It's natural.
Like girl. There's literally a subcategory of soul called, "blue-eyed soul"

Although this is true, I don't think mostly consumers are responsible for the disparities seeing as the scenario was completely different 10 years ago. I doubt people have become more prejudice/racist. I feel like this is more of a reflection of the agenda of the industry. Only few if not just one radio is instrumental in single success in my country. I'm sure it's the same in the US. White artists are able to get their urban music played on urban & pop formats where as black artists struggle to be acknowledged. The billboard hot 100 single charts are a reflection of the music industry agenda, people will buy whatever is crammed down their throats most of the time. The fact that so many of these white artists are getting top 10s with overexposed songs but struggle to sell albums just show that their support isn't really consumer based. It's a fix.
Iggy is not the problem, so there is no need for Azealia to project her anger towards her (besides pure jealousy and bitterness, which is probably the case). It's the general public who subconsciously likes Iggy more than other rappers just because she's white.
I think a catchy song is a catchy song regardless of skin color. I don't know if its because the GP subconsciously likes Iggy more that others because she's white.
