I listen to Taylor Swift for the smart melodies and of course, the lyrics too are very smart, the way Taylor can put them together. I even, think Taylor is actually a poet and a real artist when others, are not. Who else can say things in a certain way, but Taylor Swift. You should tell your friend that throughout the history of music, songwriters have always written about breakups. Look at Elvis ("Heartbreak Hotel"), The Beatles ("Yesterday"), The Rolling Stones("As Tears Go By"), Mariah Carey ("I can't Live"). These are all about "Love Lost". Breakup songs are no secret, and that is probably one topic that makes the muse come out. It is nothing new, but of course because it is Taylor Swift, some people play it up.

Then, i really wish that they would stop to say that she bashes her exes, she never bashed anyone, maybe a little on Dear John, but at least she didn't call him a *****. She just tell the story of them 2, or her feelings in a certain situation, isn't that hard to get it?

This is ATRL, what do you expect?

I'm actually happy that she never did it. That song's good and heavy and she's honestly not vocally capable of carrying its full weight live. #HonestOpinion

Here are a few tips for this year's office pool:
___
ALBUM OF THE YEAR: "The Blessed Unrest," Sara Bareilles; "Random Access Memories," Daft Punk; "good kid, m.A.A.d city," Kendrick Lamar; "The Heist," Macklemore & Ryan Lewis; "Red," Taylor Swift.
FEKADU: Justin Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience" doesn't even have a 20 percent chance to win this — though it should. And why isn't Bruno Mars' "Unorthodox Jukebox" on the list? I can't deal. Putting my personal feelings aside, this is how it will work: While Taylor Swift had earth-shattering numbers, Sara Bareilles created a top-notch, memorable album, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis owned 2013, they won't win here. That leaves Daft Punk and Kendrick Lamar — who is like a second coming to hip-hop. If "Random Access Memories" was a little stronger, it would win, but I think the Recording Academy — after failing to properly award amazing rap records in the top categories — will get it right with a win for Lamar. "Poetic Justice," indeed!
TALBOTT: Don't be daft, punk! Looking back over the history of the Grammys, the usual winner in this category is that year's "event" album. Those records got attention beyond the quality of the music for some reason or another. With all due deference to Taylor Swift's popularity, the album that felt like an event in this group is Daft Punk's "Random Access Memories." It didn't yield as many hits as "Red" — one of three albums on this list that came out way back in 2012, a limiting factor for all. But few albums had as much ink spilled over them this year. Score one for the robots.
So far, no article mentions Taylor as the winner
|
This is just opinion; I think Taylor still can do it, Lamar and Macklemore & Ryan are both new artists and the vote might be split between them as they both have Rap albums. Daft Punk is too much outside of the mainstream and Sara Bareilles, although, good, doesn't quite have the punch. There are other websites that do favor Taylor:
http://www.hitfix.com/news/2014-gram...um-of-the-year
http://popcrush.com/2014-grammy-awar...h-predictions/
The thing that I don't understand is This "Shazam" app that is predicting "The Heist" to be AOTY. How does this work? It is based on tags, but who cares? The Grammy's are not based on tags, but on the best album voted on by the Grammy voters, and I think they will favor Taylor.

Agreed that Fleshlight >> WANEFLOP
But it would have never worked as the lead single

EVERYONE does some 'editing' in studio.
Whatever you hear as great performance is actually edited. So the noticeable differences between live & in studio performances are just normal thing. The real one is live, capable or not, like in the album or not. Whether you like it or not. Edited vocal is not the default/normal setting.
None actually performs live as clean as they are in studio, it's an impossible thing.

I think it is just a bunch of "Haters" trying to stir up some "Sh*t". You know it is the context that you use the word. It's like saying "That joke's is gay" or "Such a gay comment", etc. doesn't have anything to do with homophobia, but there are the anti-christ haters out there that will play on every word coming from the Lord's lips.

The problem is that Dear John (and Haunted too) requires strong breath control to be done justice. And her breath control has never been strong tbh. All Too Well doesn't require as much breath control. It's a pretty easy song to sing, except for the D5 in "to break me like a promise".

I know Disco, I understand that. But she never carried the full weight of the song on the SN tour. The bridge required her to go HIGHER, and she just kept belting those 4th octave notes and leaning backward in an exaggerated position, as if she was doing them Aretha fifth octave belts
I'm just gonna say it: I won't be here for a Dear John performance unless she can freakin belt the bridge.

You know what? LP 1 wasn't really vocally bad. She had her mistakes for sure, but it wasn't awful by any means. Things got bad on Fearless tho Some moments in Change and Tell Me Why
