She's had a bunch of songs hitting #1 without a video but her career is in a different stage now.
Evidently.
And fair enough. Katy needs a really good video for her next single, but she always delivers with her leads, so I'm not worried about that. She'll probably have her next lead single out either by the end of the year or early next year.
@ everything in this post. This Is How We Do and its video remain unbothered. Top 25 smash.
I refuse to believe you've heard the song if you don't hear its try hardness. She clearly went into the studio one day and thought "Right, today I can't leave until I write a fun party song!" then was still looking at a blank bit of paper 13 hours later.
This is the point I believe Katy asked a 14 year old valley girl to look after the studio whilst she popped out for a coffee and the girl wrote about her weekend on the paper, which Katy then stole, thinking the girl was 21 and down with the college kidz
Enjoy it all you want, but it doesnt flow naturally.
Anyway I can't believe 1989 is about to sell 4M in the US while PRISM has just crossed 1.5M. Taylor's selling power is so ****ing huge it's unfair. I mean it's just cruel.
It doesn't matter how disgusting Career Suicide Moment is, it still has one of the best sing-along verses/chorus on PRISM (poor Birthday, Uncle and TIHWD)

This Is How We Do has one of the best sing-along choruses on the album tho.
Wow, finding so many demos I didn't know existed after all that If You Can Afford Me talk last night.
Peacock manages to sound even more trash, and is Hook Up remastered just Kellys instrumental playing over Katys version?;
Does anyone know if the Hot n Cold and Hummingbird Heartbeat demos are floating around any streaming sites? They're the only two from this list that I can't find. Are there any Prism demos out there?

Wait, the vocals are obviously fairly bad, but this instrumental is flawless. It needs to do an "In Another Life" and make a comeback on Katy's next album, rerecorded;
(I really wish the 'In Another Life' demo would leak, I have a feeling Dr Luke got a writing credit for doing next to nothing to make it 'The One That Got Away'. )

Peacock still sounds like the masterpiece it is now
