Speech - The Entries

Judges. Fellow contestants. Let me just begin by saying that it has been fun being able to represent Drake in this competition. I’ve enjoyed keeping up with each one of the entries from my fellow contestants and learning about your artists along the way.
It’s been a long road to the finale and we’ve lost a lot of strong competitors along the way and I am happy to have made it this far. Drake has been my favorite artist for years and I have enjoyed representing him, not only to win here, but also to find out that there are a lot of Drake fans here. Now, I know I might not be the most confrontational when it comes to defending him on here, but I take more of a live and let live approach and let whoever is coming for him just be wrong.
I will though talk about him whenever a thread asks a question about my favorite artist, I’ll show off his songs on my Top Ten, I’ll bump the music threads that relate to Drake, recommend his music (new single 0 To 100/The Catch-Up and Grindin’ with Lil Wane available on iTunes now) and mixtapes (available on datpiff) to anyone that seems interested, and applaud his chart success just because I’m a fan and support what he does.
I think that he taps into a certain style and aesthetic that no one else is really exploring and I connect with his mix of introspection, narcissism, innovation, and determination because I have a similar personality. In a music (and real) world where everyone seems to be concerned with either being invincible, zoned out completely from life, or is unconcerned with anyone else but themselves, I like how Drake sticks out apart from all that and can show his faults and emotions and move past them but also brag about how well he does it and find success doing just being himself. At the end of the day though, I’m a fan of Drake and his music. Thanks for the support through the game.

Hihi judges, we're down to the final challenge and I'm pleased to have made it this long and have gotten such positive reception throughout the season. Now that I'm here, the only thing left to do as said by Cupid, is "test your writing skills and your powers of persuasion". I'm gonna keep this quick to core, and I'm going to keep the stats on point. This game is called ATRL Elite, and these are the ways an ATRL Elite is formed.
POPULARITY & INFLUENCE: You can't be an elite and be an unknown nobody, correct? No disses involved, but the other 4 competitors remaining are shunned down in comparison when it comes to popularity. Why not bring in a receipt from the community themselves? I was ranked ATRL's 18th Most Influential Member this decade. I'm the top poster among those also left in the game, and I also remain the 2nd oldest member only 5 days behind the other. In addition I was the behind the hosting and OP of ATRL's Member Awards, Create a Label's Biggest Season, and ATRL's Top 40 Countdown recently. This not only proves I'm behind some popular threads, but I have a spread reputation and influence across multiple sections in ATRL.
KNOWLEDGE & DEDICATION: Of course, got to have that knowledge on your fave and among dedication on your fave! To begin with knowledge, I mean we all are familiar with my knowledge for Mariah, my 'encyclopedia' knowledge as Matty called it himself. I own Mariah's Receipts thread, along with being voted the Lamb w/ Most Receipts @ the last Lambily Awards. Onto dedication, I've stanned Mariah down since I was a nobody with nothing to my name on this site. I have all her studio albums, some physical singles, magazine covers, and I've even been tweeted by her before. I think my name is pretty much synonymous with her on ATRL when stans are brought up, and it's not a reach. Can the other girls say that?
GAME PERFORMANCE: Um, hello, last but not least -- how can you have won this if you didn't give the best effort and have the proof to it? This season, I have not only won the previous challenge, but I have won the most challenges this season. With 1/3 of the previous challenges won by thy, one would have to wonder, how else does this translate? Besides winning the most challenges, I also have the highest season average score of anyone left. An 8.7125 season average is astounding in my opinion, and further proves how much effort I put into each challenge.
I've proven that I hold the most Popularity & Influence on ATRL, the most knowledge and dedication to my fave, along with the best performance this season in the game so far. I just glared DOWNE my writing skills, and this should've persuaded you all. I've met everyone in this game before at some point, including you judges -- most know I can have my ups and downs, but overall I contribute more to the site and have contributed more to the game than the other participants. Push everything aside -- I define an ATRL Elite, and it'd be amazing to win this season and mark my way down in the books for others. I've never won an ATRL Game, ever so I really think my time has come -- this is my first time snatching a finale too. The other girls legit lack in atleast 1 of these fields above. Who else is there properly to give this win to? I know the other girls will somehow throw some graphics, arts, and other **** into their essays but this was my one shot and I explained everything to my fullest ability.
Either way it goes, it's been a great season and it was a nice opportunity to know all of you closer as judges. You guys did a really good job, and this was pretty fun. Thanks Cupid for the creating this, and thank you to Prometheus., Celebrate, and collin for serving as fun and helpful judges.

Hello. I'm not very good at speeches, but I will try my best.
Firstly, I'm just glad I made it this far. Many of my biggest competitors dropped out, but even the people who didn't are just as deserving of their places. That said, I still deserve to win this game. I really excelled at this game and totally earned my place here in the final. I'm definitely one of the more well-known Kylie stans on the forum and I think my performance so far in the contest speaks for itself...
|
 |
When it comes to being the best Kylie fan, I think that's a tiny bit awkward with a certain judge on the panel, but I definitely respect that person. Being honest, most of the Kylie "fans" on ATRL are just people who listened to X or Aphrodite and threw her in their signatures. The only ones that I think could challenge me as the best fan are also people I like and have respect for. One thing that makes me different in regards to other Kylie fans is my "unique" taste. I genuinely think that her 80s records are underrated and I tend to defend them against the more "casual" fans who have no real interest in them, or anything Kylie released pre-2000. Conversely, I'm not a huge fan of her recent releases and I can be quite vocal about it, but one of the things that makes me the best fan is that I'm willing to find the good in every album, and not completely dismiss any of them: see my EP Challenge. |
I have great knowledge of Kylie's career. This includes charting receipts, album sales etc. but also extends into just general knowledge about the recordings of albums and eras. I know I was chastised in the last round for going into too much detail in my thread, but I think that's a good example of the kinds of things I know. Even so, I actually had to condense my original plans for that thread. I wanted to do things like a track-by-track review of the album, or talk about the videos etc. My other idea for that challenge was to explore and discuss Kylie's b-sides and unreleased collections. I didn't even try to memorize all of this information either, I just found them genuinely interesting and kept them in mind. |
Another thing that I think separates me from the rest is that I have a sense of humor with Kylie. As I've shown in this contest, I can make jokes about her, the music, the videos or the shows etc. I think that a lot of stans freak out at the tiniest shade to their fave, but I feel like you should be able to enjoy a joke at your fave's expense, otherwise being a fan seems very dull. Something which sometimes crosses over with joking about your fave is being able to criticize them. I feel I was quite grounded throughout the competition, I have admitted to her shortcomings both technically, such as in the "Best Performance" round, and in her music, such as in the "Create An EP" round. I think that admitting to these faults and acknowledging them makes me a better fan as I continue to support and love Kylie even though I recognize her flaws and slip-ups. |
 |
This is my current Kylie collection, but it's still a work-in-progress obviously. I plan on expanding it ( ) in the coming months: |
(Do NOT mock it, Cupid )
As for my performance in this competition, I think I can say without doubt that I was an extremely consistent player throughout the whole game, probably the most consistent. I debuted in the Top 10 in challenge #1 and stayed there for the entire game. Personally, I think that consistency is much more desirable than fluctuating between #1 in one week and missing the Top 10 in the next. Being stable means that I was able to impress the judges in every area in the competition, rather than excelling in a few select areas. I was able to win them over with a combination of excellent choices and great knowledge in the music challenges and demonstrate how good of a fan and a contestant I am in the personal challenges.
Regardless of how these results go, I'm very proud of my performance in this contest, but I'm even more proud of being a fan of Kylie, as she gave me all the materials for this, I just compiled them. Sometimes our faves can be very trying and to be honest this era was really testing my love for Kylie, but I have to thank this game for reminding me of why I love her and how fantastic she is. |

Hey judges
When the game was first posted, I had no doubt in my mind that I wanted to sign up with Christina. Christina Aguilera is the voice of this generation and the princess of reinvention. She broke out of her cookie cutter pop image and sound after just one album. She then morphed into polar opposite personnas, such as Xtina and Baby Jane. She kept going against the grain changing up her stlye and craving for artistic progression in each and every new release, risking her previous success every time. She tackled pop, r & b, soul, jazz, blues, electro, alternative, country and even rock! Therefore, she's fearless, creative, versatile, intriguing and most importantly a true artist. That's why I think she deserves to win this game.
I could bring in statistics and sales to prove that, despite her recent missteps, she's one of her generation's most successful popstars, but that's not what I want to do. Even if Christina's albums sold 10 copies each, I would still buy them, enjoy them, learn the lyrics of every track, try to belt out all her vocal acrobatics and tell people about how amazing she is. And that's because in every track she makes, she manages to be effortlessly relatable to me. First of all, because I think her voice is spine tingling. She gives me goosebumps even in the simplest melodies, because of her warm tone and how she pronounces each word like she really evokes the emotion behind it. Secondly, because after watching countless interviews of her, I've found many similarities between her life before fame and my life right now. Christina's heartfelt lyrics and emotional vocal deliveries derive from being a bullied outcast throughout her teenage, her bad relationship with her father and the pursuit of true love. If I could write an album right now, these 3 subjects would be the main lyrical content! And that's why no matter what ATRL thinks of her, she'll always be my fave, eternally perched in my signature!
My genuine and unconditional love and admiration for Christina and my vast knowledge about her career is not the only reason why I think I'm the right fan to win this tournament. My presence throughout the game is also a major factor. Firstly, I always explained exactly why I made each choice. I made sure to provide my honest opinion and reflect my point of view as a fan and as a contestant in every step of the way. Secondly, I never played it safe. During the first part of the competition, I never used any of Christina's biggest hits. Hurt (best single) was a global underperformance, Bionic (best cover) is her most bashed and slated album to date, Dirrty (best video) received the biggest backlash and was blacklisted in the USA and Birds Of Prey (most underrated) is basically unknown outside of the fanbase. Yet, I used all of these songs. And even when we were asked to make an EP, I used 2 album tracks and one of her biggest flops to date in the tracklist.
I've stuck with Christina through thick and thin. I started stanning in 2006 and I had to survive many lengthy breaks and 2 unfortunate eras, yet I'm still here and I always will be. When I first joined ATRL, Christina was quite the underdog in the games section. She didn't have a strong presence or any important wins. I signed up with her in 2 of the biggest artist - centered tournaments (Song Game, Elite) and I managed to get her in the finale of both of them. Even if I don't win, I'm beyond happy, grateful and proud that my all time favorite artist and I made it this far. THANK YOU!!!

As you can see there's only 4 entries, posh has unfortunately had to drop out of the competition due to real life commitments.
This means y'all are the top 4, 1 step closer congrats! There will still be an elimination though. Judges are now deliberating.

If one of her albums was in the 50 cent used pile at the store I went to, I might have actually bought one of her albums

given the fact inflation will likely rise over our lifetimes, a good majority of college educated people will likely accumulate over 3.5 million dollars in my entire lifetime
