Omg my nose is bleeding
but, anyways, I digress.

Your entry didn't have anything eye opening for me but that's only because I love the song just as much. The first time I heard it was by running into the genius video late one night on MTV. Also not knowing who the artist was, since I wasn't paying attention to the beginning credits, I went with the quickness to add it to my library once I did find out. I heard this song was given a lot of thought to have Rihanna's name or the like attached to it instead, but I'm glad Sia kept it. She deserves to have a hit herself for once. Wait—no pun.
Personal bias on song: 9

I really didn't want my entry to seem too overbearing so I went for a simplistic approach, which is why I let the song speak for itself for the most part. My 'discovery' was quite similar to yours because I've listened to some of Sia's stuff here and there but never actually gave her a chance until Chandelier. Thank you for the insight!

I'm guessing you didn't like the song that much...
If not, then this is a bit anti-climatic.

Maybe it’s my psychology side, but I wanted to know more about how it helped you through your anxiety and depression. I want to know what aspects of the song helped you through your anxiety and depression. It doesn't have to be anything personal, and you did kind of speak on it. I just felt like there could have been a little more to explain, but still fairly good!

I am a psychologist myself so it's perfectly understandable why you would be so interested. The verses, more or less, mirrored what I was feeling at the time. The '1 2 3 drink' part in particular connected with me due to how vibrantly lifeless it was sung by Sia. On the other hand, the chorus is something more hopeful yet it still reflects the emptiness I felt (and still continue to feel) to this day because instead of 'I will swing...' it's 'I'm gonna swing...'. Not everything is as concrete as it seems and that really spoke to me, almost like a distraction if you will. I didn't get into too much detail as to how it helped me get through all that personal stuff because I wanted to show an array of reasons why I chose to submit Chandelier, you know?

Firstly, there's nothing carefree about Chandelier, everything from the production, to the vocals, to the video is intense! Secondly, who the hell takes a nap listening to a song like Chandelier? Not feeling this description very much, but the rest of your points are true and the song is amazing so...

Well, I don't believe it's as black and white since that's just my interpretation. I did say that the song still remains quite intense throughout but is 'carefree' in nature e.g.
'I'm gonna swing from this chandelier' is sung intensely although the content is very 'carefree' in nature. It's hard to explain

I generally thought your entry was pretty solid overall. It covered a lot of the points I was looking for in an entry, I just would have liked a sentence more in details for what you liked about the song (for each paragraph).

Yeah, I definitely could've solidified what I liked about the song even further but thank you for the kind words

Not bad. But the part about the anxiety and depressions seemed a little emotionless. Not that you have to be emotional or anything, but it doesn’t sound very real. Again, I’m not saying you’re lying or anything - just talking about the emotion.

The only reason why I glossed over that aspect of my entry was because I didn't want it to become about me. I wanted my entry to showcase why I liked the song (in general) and I felt like that wouldn't come across well if I only focused on more personal side of things. I'd be lying to myself if I said this didn't hurt me when I read your critique...but I do see why you would think that, in a sense. When you go through something as traumatising as depression/anxiety etc, there are no words to fully explain why something betters the situation I'm currently going through now...it just does. Hope you understand!
