It will go on that way indefinitely. Basically, for songs with 8+ days of airplay each daily update represents the growth/regression of the track compared to its performance 1 week earlier. That's why the updates are so much more impressive for new tracks than for existing tracks, half the haters don't realize how the charts work - they wouldn't be as worked up over the airplay updates if they did.
The airplay deal already hit billboard (the weekly tracking ends every Tuesday). Thanks to the air deal Monday and Tuesdays airplay put Mariah at 44 for the week. I think the timing of the deal is very smart, the next week should still be able to move forward.
Airplay deals and chart trickery can kill songs/albums prematurely, that's why I like what Island did with this. They could have gone for the highest possible debut and run the air deal on Wednesday , but the high debut would have turned into an airplay free-fall the following week. That can create the illusion that the song is flopping hard, killing momentum.
