NO PROFIT = NO BRITNEY SPEARS.
It does matter if she succeeds. It does matter if she puts in effort. It DOES matter if she takes her career seriously.
She cannot afford another lackluster era or her fans are outtie....and if Britney doesn't have people buying, then her career is outtie too, which ultimately means NO MUSIC.

I don't, and I learned how meaningless it is during this entire era. Yes her objective is to sell, but she does not put enough effort in promoting her music. So why should I care about her sales, when she doesn't even give two ***** about promoting. No profit means she needs to step her game up, and it's all up to her. Yes it does matter if she takes her career seriously, but currently she's not taking it serious enough and she will learn her lesson sooner or later. All I care about, is that she's happy and is doing what she wants to do. Not about her album sales, and where she's charting on iTunes or whatever. Yes you do need success in order to keep your career going, but like I said before. When her career starts showing really bad signs , she will def get her act together. Or she won't continue with her music career because she refuses to put more effort. What are you going to do when she leaves music for good? Complain because she isn't doing what you want her to do?

I dont think she WANTS to flop. I think her team made her believe she's above all. She said she didnt care about sales anymore, cause she had nothing to prove. And I'd agree, if she'd say she is retiring. But if you want to keep releasing music, then you have to step up your game a little bit.

I saw fans say the c-ship is stopping her from doing promotion cos she really wants to promote but being under Jamie's control, she's forced not to and to stay at home and just tour. I've seen fans say the c-ship is stopping her from performing on huge shows that her team books but the c-ship forbids her in performing on them. I can't.

I don't think that's the case. I just think her kids is her MAIN priority right now, as she has said herself. At the end of the day it's about the music, and were still getting that aspect from her. It's just the promotion side that's mediocre. Fortunately I'm not one of those stans who obsess over sales. Britney is also fortunate to have sold what she has and debut at a time when albums sold like crazy.

Sorry, but her selling less than 800k worldwide means her career is already showing "bad signs". It's not possible they are not seeing that.
And I'm sure we ALL want her to be happy. Just like we all know she loves music. We also know she doesn't like the music INDUSTRY anymore, but sadly, it's the career she chose, and if she wants to keep doing music for us fans, those she constantly says she loves, she needs the support of the general public as well. And in order to get that she needs to step her game up.
Either she does that or she admits she wants to go back to Kentwood and just randomly release mixtapes or whatever online, otherwise she's just tainting her legacy.

Circus and ITZ are the best kind of albums. It pleases everybody. ITZ is perfect bc it has everything! Pop brit (MATM) Dance Brit (Toxic, BNG) mid tempo Brit (TOMH, BOM) and Ballad Brit (Shadow, Everytime)
if you don't like dance Brit, your gonna be screwed when you pick up femme Fatale.

But I get your point, and the sad thing is, they actually think Britney can get away with it - I don't even think she feels like that way, it's really her team.
This era has proved the fans are NOT enough, and I pray to God someone on her label has noticed that, cause when you think things can't get worse, they do. Oh, they do.
|
Her team clearly, do not care. Of course they notice but they choose to ignore.

Can anyone pull that off anymore tho? I don't think it'll be possible for Britney, or even Beyonce for that matter.
The way I see it, someone like Adele can sell her 12343 million albums, but no one will talk about it being the new (fill in name of iconic album). I think thnx to the internet everyone has too different of a taste in music to decide that one album is culturally significant. It's a lot of work to try to reach across all genres to appeal to that many people when everyone can find exactly what they want.

I'm sorry but that is BULL, some people really don't care if she flops and they can. You know who my 5 favorite popstars are:
Britney Spears
Robyn
Kelly Rowland
Celine Dion
Ricky Martin
One of them hasn't had a hit outside the UK, and these days not even there. One's success is so spordic a #1 on the R&B charts is cause for a celebration. And two others haven't had a hit in over a decade. NOW TELL ME I GIVE A DAMN ABOUT SALES.
I also worship Kylie, and she can't even get a hit in Australia

Yep it sure is. Maybe Britney doesn't even realize how much she's putting at stake by slacking off. And you're right, if she wants to keep her career alive and making music for us, she does need to support her career more and show the general public she still exists.

People need to stop thinking it's about F.U.C.K.I.N.G. S.A.L.E.S..
It's about the fact that she's a POP artist and not an independent singer - and even so, I've seen indie artists promoting their work more than Britney has lately.
She will simply NOT survive in this industry if she ignores the general public. We may be many and be enough to get her some fan-voted awards and online polls, but it won't go further than that.
I'm sure when Britney properly shows up her silly team will also do that. I know her label/team could do better even without Britney herself, but since they proved day after day they don't care... SHE has to do it. It's her name after all.

If Britney didn't care about sales anymore, then she would release mixtapes or things for fun.
