If you take the Amtrak to NYC it takes about 3-4 hours

NYC is the purple bit at the bottom where it says Bronx, Manhattan, etc. The rest is all upstate. Well some of it is considered downstate but whatever it's not NYC is the point

DC isn't in a state. It is its own special district (the District of Columbia), so it's not a state.
