Okay, so, this is a few months old, I think, but back in November or December, there was a press conference to officially announce the title and details regarding the upcoming James Bond film, Spectre. One of the stars, Ben Whishaw (who, for those of you who don't know, played Q in the previous film), confirmed in an interview that they have chosen a singer for the theme song for the film, but he can't reveal it right now..... God, I hope it's Adele! I know most of you guys don't want her to do another Bond theme, but God, I want it to be her so bad! I have a bad feeling it's going to be Sam Smith, though.... Honestly, no one can do that franchise justice in terms of the theme song except for her now that she's done it. The only other artist I could see doing it and pulling it off is Amy Winehouse, and she obviously can't do it.

I dont want the singer to be Adele for the next James Bond movie. Its just not a smart decision at the moment. Let her third album be the next material, we did not wait this long to simply get another Bond movie to kill the hype for this third album. Yes we are thisty for that new music though so its understandable

That's part of why I'm upset. If she would've released new music sooner, she could have potentially done the Bond theme, too. Now, it's a lot less likely, although the film won't be out until October/November, so the single will probably be released in October. She might be able to do it if she were to have her album out and had a few singles already released, and then she could promote the Bond theme as her next single and then return to promoting the album, although I don't think she's going to do that. God, I hope they get a good singer. It's going to be hard to top her.....

But getting Sam Smith is just. I don't mind him but I'm just tired of him trying so hard to be Adele.

I wouldn't mind if she did the bond theme again, but I think Sam will do it. I love Sam, but my problem with him doing it is that I don't think he could match up to Adele's theme at all. And his style doesn't seem like it would fit for a James bond song.

I don't think he purposely tries to be Adele, but maybe his team gets him to be like her.

I agree that he comes off as being an Adele try-hard, and it doesn't help that the media frequently compares him to Adele.

I like Sam, don't get me wrong, but like you said, he can't top Adele's theme, and his style really wouldn't work for a Bond theme. I'd be fine if they got someone like Paloma Faith to do it, I suppose. But I still think Adele would do the song the most justice.

Exactly. I mean... I guess it's worked for him, but he can't find success by ripping off of Adele and being deemed the "male Adele" by the media. He has a lot of potential, but he needs to stay true to himself as an artist and not let his team and the media manipulate him and influence the artists that he tries to be like.

Has anyone ever checked out this site called SongFile? It's like BMI or ASCAP. Someone might want to go on it and look up "Right as Rain" (sorry, I can't post a link to it, it won't allow me), because it has a rather strange title registered for it..... Also, "Saviour" is the only unreleased track that appears on it published under Universal and Melted Stone Publishing. It's very possible that "Saviour" is being released for the next album.

Right, no, I'm not saying that's his fault. I think the media should stop doing that because, first of all, that could put a lot of pressure on him to live up to the expectations she's set, and it could put a lot of pressure on his team to make him become the "male Adele". Plus, even though they're both British artists who have kind of helped to make soul mainstream, I think they're different. They have their similarities, but I don't know that I'd call him the "male Adele", especially after only one album.
