I'm sorry but, Beyonce is already one thee most respected women/artists in the WORLD and did it WITHOUT dumbing down her talent with songs like that. You don't have to act "ratchet/hood" to get respect if anything that would prove stereotypes right that blk women are ghetto. Why do you have to act like a man to gain respect. That's what's wrong with this GEN today ppl have things so backwards. So women should act ratchet? Then why do ya'll bash Rihanna and others for acting that way? It doesn't make any sense to me. Calling women b*t*hes is NOT empowering. When you're GREAT you don't need to boast about it (which she is), it speaks. I LOVE B, but can't rock with her on this one. Let's just leave it alone. It's pointless.
“Bow Down/I Been On” feels like something else entirely, like the work of an artist at the top of her game, one bubbling over with so much creative energy that anything seems possible, even if it doesn’t necessarily make sense....it’s a reminder that we don’t know what she’s fully capable of yet.
The snippets are like RTW. You either hate it or love it. So many mixed feelings I've read.
I feel B does not need songs like this. She promotes women empowerment! BUT I gotta say Bow Down is catchy and urban formats would play it.

This is EXACTLY how I feel. I am so excited to see what Beyonce has in store, because she really is at the top of her game, creatively. Although people might love it or hate it, they can definitely say that it is intriguing.

She's calling out people that talk down about her, it's got nothing to do with women as a whole. She's telling people she's COMING this era and not to doubt her power.
I think as Bey gets older she gets less concerned with doing what people expect of her in order to fit the mold of a "good girl". Besides this is a joke song, nothing serious. I don't think she'll give us an album full of "Bow Downs", nor is she going to start acting ratchet in real life either. I don't mind people not liking it, but there's no need to start having meltdowns over it.
Anyway, is anyone else surprised at how SICK her flow is as a rapper?
I understand the message she's conveying in the song but imo she should just show she's the King. They know, so its not need to say it. But I still live her lol

This is true though. I'm just talking like this cus I don't want the album to be too dirty lol.
She's just asserting her artistic freedom and saying she's at a place in her career where she can do that.
I mean she said in the docu she wanted to grow and felt commercialism was holding her back, she wants to take her music to a new place and that's what she's doing. These songs are saying just that, whose gonna check her?
