i dont get how something as huge as Apocalypse can be set in the 80s. It would basically invalidate everything in X1 and X2 even with the changed history from DoFP. It would be the X-Men's biggest threat ever, and yet life would just go on ladeedaa afterwards until X1 officially takes place decades later? It makes no sense.

Apocalypse could possibly refuel society's fear/hate towards mutants again, so the events of X-2 might still happen.

He'd be the X-men's greatest threat power wise, but humanity's prejudice should not be underestimated.

Dunno about X-1 though. I barely remember the plot of that movie lol.

Also not all the movie's need to be so large in scale. Having more intimate, character based affairs (well, characters who aren't Wolverine, Magneto, Xavier and Mystique) would be a nice change of pace too after this is done.

And when Mystique didn't kill Trask, she changed the timeline as a whole, which would mean the events of X-Men 1 - 3 are subject to change now. This is basically an alternate timeline.

Probably. It would make sense since Magneto needs to go back to being a villain and he could easily take over the Archangel characterization while Archangel dies in this movie.

I hope not. The Phoenix element was already used in The Last Stand, while there are many more storylines to use instead.

I wouldn't mind a set of trilogies that would deal with the power of Jean and the Phoenix force. We could get Sinister trying to fixate on her and her DNA in the first movie. The second movie could deal with the Shi'ar trying to kill her to prevent the Phoenix from coming, and the final of the trilogy could be the actual Phoenix fight. I think it would be great if they threaded it from the beginning.

They NEED to re-do the Phoenix saga. Give her the iconic gold and green costume from the comics and TV show. The original Phoenix saga was so freaking bad in the old movies.

It is possible. The X-team of Wolverine's time did not know about Apocalypse and probably didn't know that Kitty sending Wolverine back and changing time would cause this disaster. They only fix their timeline and the course could still change from the end we saw in DOFP.
