Didn't you used to call it Pretty When You ****? Hmm
You have to give people time to get used to how horrible her vocals are at the beginning. She sounds TERRIBLE for a solid thirty seconds. And then the production kicks in and it becomes an amazing power ballad with the last chorus being one of the greatest highs in her discography. My issue was I could never get past the "all the pretty stars..." part but I've learned the errors of my ways.

Nobody cared about "Teenage Dream" when it first came out hence why it took FOREVER (not to mention several discounts on holidays and endless promo spots + a movie) for it to sell a somewhat decent amount of copies. Katy hasn't set any trend, really.
Now you're just reaching. Are you saying the album Born This Way didn't set a trend and nobody cared about it because of the 99 cents deal?
Hot and dangerous
If you’re one of us, then roll with us
‘Cause we make the hipsters fall in love
And we've got our hot-pants on and up
And yes of course we does, we running this town just like a club
And no, you don’t wanna mess with us
Got Jesus on my necklace
I’ve got that glitter on my eyes
Stockings ripped all up the side
Looking sick and sexyfied
So let’s go-o-o (Let’s go!)
[Chorus:]
Tonight we’re going har har-har ha-ha-hard
Just like the world is our our-our our-our-ours
We’re tearin’ it apart part-part pa-pa-part
You know we’re superstars, we are who we are!
We’re dancing like we’re dum dum-dum dum-dum-dumb
Our bodies go num num-num num-num-numb
We’ll be forever youn youn-youn youn-youn-young
You know we’re superstars, we are who we are!
DJ turn it up
It’s about damn time to live it up
I’m so sick of being so serious
It’s making my brain delirious!
I’m just talkin’ truth
I’m telling you ’bout the **** we do
We’re sellin’ our clothes, sleepin’ in cars
Dressin’ it down, hittin’ on dudes (HARD!)
I’ve got that glitter on my eyes
Stockings ripped all up the side
Looking sick and sexyfied
So let’s go-o-o (Let’s go!)
[Chorus:]
Tonight we’re going har har-har ha-ha-hard
Just like the world is our our-our our-our-ours
We’re tearin’ it apart part-part pa-pa-part
You know we’re superstars, we are who we are!
We’re dancing like we’re dum dum-dum dum-dum-dumb
Our bodies go num num-num num-num-numb
We’ll be forever youn youn-youn youn-youn-young
You know we’re superstars, we are who we are!

[Chorus:]
Tonight we’re going har har-har ha-ha-hard
Just like the world is our our-our our-our-ours
We’re tearin’ it apart part-part pa-pa-part
You know we’re superstars, we are who we are!

Oop, just looked it up. You're right. As of the last update (a year ago, though I doubt either has sold much in the interim), Born This Way had sold about 3,000 more copies domestically.
I certainly wouldn't call Born This Way "10x more impactful" though.

I never said Born This Way set any musical trends. The only trend it set is that major pop stars started using radio deals. I'm actually one of the few Gaga stans who rebukes BTW because it did severe damage to Gaga's brand & career (moreso than ARTPOP).
