I understand that, but don't artists also want an album to be one work of "art" that can be enjoyed through and through? I also think she wouldn't get "points off" in reviews if she didn't have those two tracks.

I mean, think about it...Red Flag and Naughty already seem to be getting a bad rep among fans/critics and most critics will review the standard edition...so with RF and Naughty on the standard, most reviewers will take points off because of these two tracks. If there was no deluxe and just a standard (even with Red Flag and Naughty included) it would probably get a better score...but if Red Flag and Naughty weren't included and the deluxe tracks were on the normal edition, it'd get a MUCH better score.

I understand about the whole money thing and I'm not condemning the songs entirely, I'm just stating my thoughts.

I think critics will be hard on her because Asking 4 It, Naughty, and Red Flag. I feel like they're going to have a hard time wrapping their heads around the fact that 40+ year old mother of three is singing these songs. Critics probably expect more MMLY/UTLY, safe and bland songs. I guess we'll see. The deluxe tracks were definitely worthy of being on the standard. I suppose, if there had to be a deluxe edition, Red Flag + Naughty would have been the perfect duo.
