In 2011 Lady Gaga terms, FLOP
Lady Gaga might've already been going slightly downhill, but she was still one of the biggest stars in the world then. Born This Way was a major success, and this song as a follow up was a huge mistake. Didn't they rush release "The Edge of Glory" like two weeks later after they realized radio was completely reluctant to play Judas?
Even though it charted at #10, it just did not feel like a hit to me at all.

Or radio was reluctant to play it because Born This Way was still massive? As far as I remember, the single campaign wasn't done right. I think Interscope should've waited for Born This Way to subside more and then release Judas. The controversial video didn't help either, so Interscope must've decided to rush release The Edge of Glory to avoid the further backlash.
All things considered, it is a moderately successful hit. Despite all the previously mentioned circumstances, it managed to peak at #10 in many big markets and it's WW sales are decent (it's one of Gaga's best selling singles of Gaga in UK).
