Okay, listened to this a second time and I'm starting to feel this.
My favorite tracks:
"G4L" - The chorus is pretty, the lyrics are not. The violence and profanity in this song almost make me want to cry--you can feel her resentment for CB on this one.
"Cold Case Love" - This song is epic, people with short attention spans won't appreciate it but it's their loss.
"Rude Boy" - catchy as hell and it really flatters her voice.
"Stupid In Love" - too much like "Take a Bow" but still top-notch.
-Stupid In Love I have a feeling this will be like the most overrated song ever.
-Cold Case Love: Waaaaaaaaay to long. The bridge is decent, but the whole is just tew boring.
Okay, I've listened to the whole thing now and I think it's good. No where near the quality of GGGB, although there is less filler on this one. But I really can't see this getting close to the commercial success GGGB had
I'm not sure what to think of this album =/
It is definitely not as good as GGGB
GGGB had more pop and radio friendly songs and some of them were masterpieces. However GGGB didn't show Rihanna's personality as much. This album suits Ri, its more like her life story, where as, GGGB was like some pop hits that could have given to other artists. GGGB was an album which helped Rihanna get loads of fans, because it was pop. But on this album I can't really see any pop records like I did on GGGB.
Nearly every track has something dark and gloomy about it.

The album has no dance songs, which are Rihanna's best and strongest side.
Only 3-4 standouts, and the whole album is a huge letdown after "Good Girl Gone Bad".
Her 3rd best album, cause "A Girl Like Me" is slightly better.

Am I the only one who's hearing some post-rock influence in the first 90 seconds of "The Last Song"? Something between Pelican and Explosions In the Sky. It's brilliant! RiRi, why you doing this to me..? And "Cold Case Love" could easily end up as one of my Top 5 Rihanna songs. This is just too epic!!!!!!!
Yeh this album is heavily influenced by rock as you can tell on some tracks. Ri mentioned that in an interview somewhere, not sure where I can find it though.
G4L is probably my FAVE along with photographs
