i think something 'pop' ala early 2000s janet could work for ci, they would call it janet-esque and it would feel less of her selling out because people already associate her with janet and janet with urban.
to be fair though, sometimes an artist just has to take risks. if she's sticking to urban because she's scared of flopping with pop or another sound then i think she should forget about that and do the music she wants. if she's sticking to urban because that's the music she wants to make then i applaud her for putting her artistry before mainstream success
