At least four children have become the latest victims of Israel’s airstrikes on the besieged Gaza Strip.
Latest reports say the children were killed in Israel’s fresh air raids on a beach in the coastal enclave on Wednesday evening. This comes after a child succumbed to his wounds from a raid two days ago.
This is while at least Six Palestinians including a kid and an elderly citizen were killed in an attack in Khan Yunis on Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, three people lost their lives when their vehicle was hit by an Israeli missile in the same city.
The Palestinian death toll now stands at 220 on the ninth day of the Israeli attacks.
Medical sources say nearly 1,600 Gazans have been injured so far.
The UN agency for Palestinian refugees says women and children make up a sizeable number of Palestinian fatalities caused by Israeli attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip.
According to the UN humanitarian agencies, 80 percent of the victims are civilians, with at least 44 of them children.
Around 18,000 Palestinians have also taken shelter in Gaza schools. The number is expected to rise as Israel is warning some 100,000 Palestinian residents in the north of the coastal strip to leave their homes.
Israeli warplanes have struck more than 1,800 targets across the Palestinian territory since last week.
The Israeli military is going on with its airstrikes on the besieged Gaza Strip while Palestinians are responding by firing a barrage of rockets into Israel.
Several leaders and officials from various countries have slammed Israel’s airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.

I'm not sure if this was intentional, but whoever worded this sentence needs to be fired. Even pro-Palestinians acknowledge that the air strike was a response to the rockets, not the other way around

A well-known Israeli politician and parliament member has branded Palestinians as terrorists, saying mothers of all Palestinians should also be killed during the ongoing Israeli assault on the besieged Gaza Strip.
Ayelet Shaked of the ultra-nationalist Jewish Home party called for the slaughter of Palestinian mothers who give birth to "little snakes."
"They have to die and their houses should be demolished so that they cannot bear any more terrorists," Shaked said, adding, "They are all our enemies and their blood should be on our hands. This also applies to the mothers of the dead terrorists.”

Even as a pro-Israel supporter, I'm absolutely disgusted by this. You just have to realize that this one woman (or those couple of Israelis cheering the bombings, for everyone who keeps bringing that up) are NOT an accurate representation of the majority. In every conflict, there's always a few people who are extreme and radical, like the woman in this case. But her opinion is not an accurate representation of the whole government's.

That's all fine and dandy but if she's in the government and she's an extremist. What's the difference between her and Hamas? They both seem to have the exact same points on the agenda but on the other side of the spectrum?
However her from her side it's easier since she's on the opressors side.

The difference? SHE is just one person with a radical opinion, which is also an opinion that goes against what the rest of the government is thinking. Meanwhile, Hamas's entire platform is based on wiping Israel off the map. Hamas is a government founded on extremism, while she is an extremist in a non-extremist government.
Again, I am in no way condoning what she said - I think it's absolutely disgusting and I hope she gets fired for this comment. But you're equating one person within a government to the entire government itself.

Isn't the Israeli government elected, which means that there are people that voted for her to be in the parliament the first place?

I'm slowly starting to feel embarassed that I have ancestors from Israel. Thank God my dad made the decision to eliminate Judaism from my moms life when they married because I'd be the farthest thing from a proud Jew right now.
|
One should not confuse Judaism with Zionism. Plenty of Jews, many i know in real life also hate what zionist israel is doing and has done. You shouldn't feel embarrassed to be jewish, just be glad you haven't been brainwashed into thinking that judaism is the same as zionism like they are taught in Israel. It's sad that the zionists have hijacked the religion for political puposes

that women is the pits. I cannot believe she said that. unfortunately I have family in Israel who say they hear this kind of stuff on a daily basis so I guess she is a clear representation of not all Israelis but a big amount of them.
so sad for he poor Palestinians dead by the ravaging attacks sent out by Israel. its like you warning them to leave their homes is good and all but at the end you will still destroy their homes and kill civilians for sure. the poor civilians will be even poorer now that they will have no homes omg.

Yes, but again, that falls into the whole "small minority doesn't represent entirety" point I'm making. There are 120 seats in the Israeli Parliament, and ONE of them is a radical extremist. Like I said, there are extremists in every conflict, and the extremists in this case voted for her. But considering 119/120 don't think like her, I just think singling out the one who does and using that to make an open statement about the entire government is inaccurate.

The thing is it's not a single occurance though, it is a regular one when it comes to israel.

"We have to kill all the Palestinians unless they are resigned to live here as slaves." Chairman Heilbrun of the Committee for the Re-election of General Shlomo Lahat, the mayor of Tel Aviv, October 1983.

"We declare openly that the Arabs have no right to settle on even one centimeter of Eretz Israel... Force is all they do or ever will understand. We shall use the ultimate force until the Palestinians come crawling to us on all fours." Rafael Eitan, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces - Gad Becker, Yediot Ahronot 13 April 1983, New York Times 14 April 1983.

"Everybody has to move, run and grab as many hilltops as they can to enlarge the settlements because everything we take now will stay ours... Everything we don't grab will go to them." Ariel Sharon, Israeli Foreign Minister, addressing a meeting of militants from the extreme right-wing Tsomet Party, Agence France Presse, November 15, 1998.

Even if you'll prove to me that the present war is a dirty immoral war, I don't care. We shall start another war, kill and destroy more and more. And do you know why it is all worth it? Because it seems that this war has made us more unpopular among the civilized world. We'll hear no more of that nonsense about the unique Jewish morality. No more talk about a unique people being a light upon the nations. No more uniqueness and no more sweetness and light. Good riddance." --Former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon

Israel needs to stop being overly aggressive.
Hamas needs to accept the damn ceasefire.
Seriously.
