There was a bit of satire there, but that was the Lana I enjoyed.
Born to Die was a masterpiece for me and I really appreciated it's urban/dirty American influences. I mean I bought the album twice I loved it so much . I was a very early stan of hers though and since 2011 things have changed quite a bit.
But I've been disappointed because she seems to have mostly abandoned that cool urban influenced sound and lyricism for something that feels whitewashed. It was the hybrid that made it all so attractive for me.
I know what she's doing though, and I understand it's her business and right to grow. I'm still perched.
