Most of these are not "pop girls". Heck, some of them aren't even alive. Being a legend and having respect within the industry and by the GP =/= being a top tier pop girl at the moment.

Pop = POPULAR. people use wrongly term on ATRL. Pop music doesnt really exist as a genre.
at the moment??? what do you mean? I'm not here to change my list each month. so you would put Britney on the D-List ??? Let's consider things since their debuts; that's better and more fair.

None of those are D-list.  They're all either A or B.

I understand the origin of the term, but really pop music has taken on its own. There have been Soul, R&B and Hip Hop acts that have seen great success over the years (popular), yet they don't make what one would classify as "pop" music. Terms such as "bubblegum pop" and "electropop" and "dance-pop" have spawned and none of them relate to being popular as such. Pop is certainly a certain type of music, you can listen to a song and know whether it's a pop song or not.
These types of list are never rigid, otherwise every female artist that has ever existed would co-exist on the same scale and it would only continue to grow as new female talents continued to make a name for themselves. They don't reach a certain level and that's it, they fluctuate.
Just for the record, I would consider Britney around a B-list or a C-list at the moment, but that's entirely because of her lack of involvement in her own career. You can't continue to say that she's an A-list star just because she had some success 10-15 years ago and now (while she's still making music) can't get a hit album or single she's still A-list. It literally makes no sense to think of it like that.

This thread is the biggest MESS. Yes there are more respected and more famous musicians, but in the pop world Ke$ha is clearly up there. The fact this thread is one of the most popular ones...
