This sunny ode to being in love has a charming '60s vibe about it; I could easily see a Motown girl group doing wonders with it. Voters weren't feeling the magic, however, scoring the song mostly 6's and 7's.
A moment of levity for Wynonna, who revels in that most tempestuous of emotions over a groovy acoustic guitar. This low-key and lovely track is perhaps her best single in the rate; too bad everyone except lovesong missed the memo.
Fueling rumors that she was finally at work on that long-awaited second album, Lauryn quietly released this neo-soul warning in the summer of 2010, over a decade after her last appearance on the charts as a lead artist. Alas, the hope was short-lived—as is "Repercussions" on this countdown, where it finishes as Lauryn's lowest-ranking solo effort.
Perhaps doomed by its cheesy '80s-holdover sound, this utter flop of a lead single effectively signaled the end of Belinda's career (though she would go on to release three more studio albums). But it's an enjoyably grandiose flash of emotion that deserved better—on the charts and in this rate.
