Taylor Swift is a very gifted songwriter with a unique lyrical style that is deeply personal and emotive.

People are bothered that a young girl can come in with her acoustic guitar and songs written based on her actual life and feelings and trump albums concocted by teams of expensive songwriters and producers.

With her last album, she wrote every single song by herself. No assistance. And she was still successful and pulled in Grammy wins.

Much of the album deals explicity with "getting over it". In 'Breathe', for example she sings "It's killing me to see you go after all this time" but recognises that "people are people and sometimes we change our minds" as well as "I can't breathe without you but I have to". It's an incredibly mature response.

Girl, GaGa writes all of her music. Stand corrected. DMB writes all of their own music. Educate yourself. BEP has most if not all music written by their lead singer. Take a seat. Even Beyonce has writing credits to her name. Seethe.
