A fair judgement from Nicole, although I would argue the key to Britney's image was the dichotomy of everything more so then just sex, sex, sex. Britney was the Betty and the Veronica, the Virgin and the Temptress, the girl next door and the sex bombshell and that's what has driven the success of her career. She straddled the line perfectly between the ***** and the madonna and people adored her, cherished her and loved her for it. She was a lot like Marilyn Monroe in that aspect of her career.

Talking about tours, look at the pages on Wikipedia and you'll found that Gaga sold out the 99% of her concerts, while Britney only completed 4 tours: Femme Fatale Tour; The Monster Ball Tour

I've read a lot of things you said and the only thing I've learned from you is how to properly contradict myself, then shrug it off like it makes perfect sense when it doesn't.

You want to compare two artists, you compare them at their peaks. As I said, you wouldn't compare Britney at her peak to Madonna at Britney's peak or Michael at Britney's peak or Celine, Whitney, Janet or anyone else at Britney's peak. It's unfair because times changes.

When you look at the global impact of the two, Britney comes out on top because at her peak, she is bigger than what Gaga is now. There's no question. Britney's Pepsi endorsement, VMA Performances and album sales during her peak alone > Gaga now... but like I said, we can't say that Gaga has peaked yet, because she is bigger now than ever. We just have to wait and see.

I remember watching the making of OIDIA on Making The Video back in 2000. I remember the Britney frenzy and going home after school to watch Britney on TRL, and I can attest to the fact that in terms of magnitude their peaks are nearly identical.

Gaga's music videos, critical acclaim, grammies, album sales, tour gross, income are all comparable.
