She tried so hard to be more than just a basic popstar, and she got so far, but in the end it doesn't matter because she didn't know when to stop and took everything to such extremes. And now the only way she can stay relevant is to be the most basic of popstars and to go back to singing about dance floors, DJs and bad boys.
Or do the exact opposite and leave interjoke records and become an underground cult-favorite legend
THE DECAY OF THE POP STAR! Something had to inspire that album. Why not do it first hand. **** up your career = give you some good writing material.

Not really, I think it's more the way things were handled as opposed to the music
that's not the point. "i'm gonna marry the night" can be about what you said, but it's still "i'm gonna marry the night" and not "i'm gonna party". how can people relate to that? what does that even mean? it may not be deep but it is different. has anyone even said "marry the night" before?
I had to explain to my aunt it was "I'm gonna marry the night" and not "I'm gonna marry tonight".

Well, even if were as deep as you make it out to be, it's classic Gaga, it has a catchy hook, and her signature production, and it charted in several countries based on downloads following the album release, which is always a sign a of a future smash.

Although(of course) I don't agree with 'most basic of popstars' part. She just needs to balance some things better and she'll be back at top.

She's gonna have to. And you know what, after this little endeavor called "Born This Way", she's gonna lose a whole lot of credibility cause she's gonna have to backtrack and essentially regurgitate her old stuff. Had she just evolved gradually, she could've saved herself a lot of headaches.

Look at Rolling in the deep, what in the world does that even mean? Still a smash
