I wonder what this decade will be remembered for...
I know every decade has that transitional period... and 2014 just started, so maybe we're still leaving the transitional period? But at the same time, we're less than a year away from the middle of the decade already (
). So I'm wondering if this will be the first decade that will be remembered for several different trends dominating equally at the same time, or if one culture prevails over the other?
Like the 70s had the disco divas, 80s had the rockstars with big hair, 90s had the R&B ballads, 00s had the blonde bombshell popstars. 2008-2014 has been Katy/Rihanna/Gaga territory, but nothing to really remember it by name-wise. It seems like 2009-2013 was divided between rap, indie pop/hipster culture, and mainstream dance pop. But now those genres are translating to overall urban contemporary, indie folk and alternative rock, and pure EDM/rave culture.
Like what even is this decade.
