Hands down to one of the most underrated songs of the year. This song holds the entire concept of the album where it comes from and plays a key role in a genious and beautifully crafted trilogy of music videos that you just have to watch. I'm in love with the story they're trying to tell, the lyrics, the beat and of course the music video. I'm surprised with the amount of feelings that lady is able to express with just her face. It's heartbreaking.
Sia "Cheap Thrills"
I simply refuse to admit that Sean Paul had anything to do with this song's success. If anything it was Sia who revived his long forgotten career. I know this song was originally written for Rihanna and in some parts it actually sounds like something she would do but Sia's signature delivery is all over it and I just can't get enough of it. "This Is Acting" is supposed to be Sia acting like other artists and in the role of Rihanna she nailed it this time. Maddie's return to her videography was expected but definitely needed.
Bastille "Send Them Off!"
Bastille is finally back with what could be one of their most pop oriented singles to date. Even then I think they've preserved their original style. For the longest time I swear I thought the guy was singing "exercize my mind" and I thought the song didn't make any sense The horns were an epic addition to an already addicting hook and despite having a rather strange music video I think it was quite creative. If you thought Bastille was over after Pompeii take a listen to their new album, I promise you won't regret it.
Tame Impala "The Less I Know the Better"
I find it terribly disturbing when people claiming to be "fans" of this band say they "don't like" this song. Like really? Do other people dictate what you like and what you don't? I'm aware this song is a significant departure from this band's usual "underground" psychodelic style, but when I listened to their album and compared it to the previous one I definitely saw an improvement. Yeah they added a bit of pop synths here and there but it's definitely the same band. Anyway, there's something fascinating about this song. It has its own climate, it simply invites you to dance and sing along and let's not even talk about the video.
Mike Posner "I Took a Pill In Ibiza (Seeb Remix)"
I don't know how or why I ended up liking this song this much but it literally went from being on my black list to being on repeat in less than a month. I just can't have enough of it, I never got bored of it. I guess there's something about the lyrics being so introspective and depressive and then the beat drops in the chorus and hell I'm hooked. I doubt I'll ever like a Mike Posner song ever again but he's very welcome to try it again.
Justin Timberlake "Can't Stop the Feeling!"
Hated by many all over the internet, I think this is one of those songs you catch yourself humming to without even wanting to. It was compared to Pharrell's "Happy" and I think it makes sense but I still think this one shines on its own. It's cheerful and energetic without being excessively repetitive like Pharell's. And yes, it might be just a silly song for a kids movie with one of the cheesiest videos of the year but the chorus is irresistible. It's not even meant to be taken serious, just dance dance dance!
Lukas Graham "7 Years"
If we were in July this song would have easily been my #1. I listened to it everyday for months and I couldn't get it out of my head. The final chorus is so emotional it never fails to give me chills. There's something about Lukas' personal songwriting that doesn't click with just anybody so I'm not very surprised to see this song in many "worst of" lists this year but, as for me, I think this song is one of the highlights from this year and possibly one of the songs I will remember 2016 for. That said, it had to miss my top 3 because somehow it lacked replay value for the most part of the second half of the year until I picked it back up and slayed me again a few weeks ago.
Calvin Harris feat. Rihanna "This Is What You Came for"
Now this has to be a random song to find within my top 3. I've been very vocal about how much I hate EDM quick little singles and it is precisely Calvin Harris one of the artists I hated the most. Let alone combined with Rihanna whom I consider highly polarizing mainly because of her volatily and lack of a personal signature sound. I guess this song hit me on a weak spot because I've listened to it more than any other song this year, and I'm not lying since Spotify claims it was my most streamed song this year. The chorus is just addictive and if you ask me it doesn't even sound like Rihanna is singing
ADELE "When We Were Young"
This is THE hit that got away from the 25 era. I can't believe it was wasted like this. With such a monstrous release event she had whatever song she had chosen as a 2nd single would have been inevitably overshadowed either by Hello or by the album itself, and that's okay, it was expected, but I wish it hadn't been this song. It' doesn't have the immediate heart breaking effect that SLY and SFTTR had but once you've gotten into it it goes straight into your soul. This is Adele at her finest everyone and I just can't wait for more from her!
Coldplay feat. Beyoncé "Hymn for the Weekend"
So yeah, what a way to end my year with a song from a band that I hate clocking my entire countdown and sitting firmly at #1. In all honesty I think this song is very underrated even among sworn Coldplay stans it is not very popular. For me it's got that euphoric triumphant vibe that you can only feel when you're having the time of your life. This year meant a lot for me for so many reasons in so many different situations but in all of them I could relate to this song. Perhaps the lyrics are subpar compared to the rest of Coldplay's discography but, for the first time in forever, I'm looking for something more than just lyrics and vocals in music, I'm looking for feelings. Hope that sums it up.
Thanks for your comments.

omfgggggggggg
Good job.
2. Crei que seria el #1, es muy buena,
1. I Can't.... just.... i can't

Cute #1, I don't stan for it but it was my favorite off their album and the video is great
I would like TIWYCF but it doesn't go anywhere and it feels really lazy
TLIKTB is pretty good and omg that's where that avi is from the video
10 The Lumineers - Cleopatra | Me parece aburrida no me gusta sinceramente
9 Sia - Cheap Thrills | Odio esta cosa
8 Bastille - Send Them Off!
7 Tame Impala - The Less I Know the Better | Sigo esperando que sea un hit
6 Mike Posner - I Took a Pill In Ibiza (Seeb Remix) | Su mejor single lejos bien
3 Calvin Harris - This Is What You Came for (feat. Rihanna) | Es buena la combinación lo acepto
2 ADELE - When We Were Young | Ni la molestia se tomo de hacerle video en serio que es una tacaña.
1 Coldplay - Hymn for the Weekend (feat.
7 Tame Impala - The Less I Know the Better
9 Sia - Cheap Thrills
20 P!nk - Just Like Fire
23 CHVRCHES - Clearest Blue
27 Nothing But Thieves - Wake Up Call
30 Jonas Blue - Perfect Strangers (feat. JP Cooper)
35 Gwen Stefani - Make Me Like You
I love some of them but HATE some others. That "7 Years" song is probably the most disgusting piece of music I've ever heard in my life but I live for your number one and Adele's "When We Were Young"!
