Isn't it interesting that artists can now literally manipulate the charts? Now, they can release 5 different videos if they want and they'll all count towards BB. I'm sure we'll be seeing artists releasing several videos and several high-profile remixes soon enough.

"interesting" & "artists can now"? This isn't a new concept and was already popular in the music industry before. Artists released remixes with music videos that were also included in a physical single in the 90s and early 00s so a song could get airplay from multiple versions of a song and all those versions would drive the sales of the single. Streaming may differ it a little today, but at the end of the day it was the same thing — multiple remixes and music videos to help a song chart better.


Your own favorite did it many times so I don't see why'd you have a problem with it now.

It's just not as accurate. One video should count. Otherwise, we'll get to a stage where literally anyone can get a number 1 and go multi-platinum.

It's not cheating because it's allowed. But people wil, just use this rule to their advantage, leading to more manipulation and inequality in the industry than before.

Before Nielsen existed labels would manipulate the charts by lying about numbers/colluding with retailers. Chart manipulation was worse before.

Remixes have always existed. If it makes the song more popular then so be it.

I agree with you King Bey but chart manipulation has always occurred.

Love MJ but his 5th #1 dirty diana had some suspicious tactics.

Mariah had instances where she would repress singles and wait until the song was top 15 in airplay to release the single which sometimes was discounted and original and remix counted as one song even if they were different in sound (Thank Britney I found you)/Heartbreaker for instance

I know she has 3 diamond albums (which one is a cheat one) I was referring to the double diamond (20x platinum) album that had 100+ weeks in the top 10.

I hope Adele gets her diamond certification for 25 by November.
