While this one showed some chart improvement (relative to whatchulookinat), it failed to make a serious dent on the R&B charts --indicating that one of her key markets was not supporting her at a time when she really needed it.
The song is pretty formulaic, nothing to write home about, but the lyrics are quite nice. Had she released this back in the days of The Bodyguard some of y'all would be giving it 11s left and right. Its lackluster performance, and lack of anything particularly special (apart from her voice), leads to its early dismissal.

Based on the ratings that it got, the next one is just as dull. Even though it displays the magic of her vocals at a time when she was also slaying at the silver screen.
The scene where they play it in the movie that it comes from fits the song's mood perfectly.

Why Does it Hurt So Bad was the seventh and final single from the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack (SEVENTH!!). After so many hits (including major singles by Whitney herself, Brandy, and Mary J. Blige), the record label was not interested in making a big effort while promoting it. The fact that Whitney didn't make a video for it, didn't help it either. Still, it managed to make the Top 40 and earned a gold single in the process.
Why some of y'all dislike it as much is a mystery to me

Okay let me clock some tea over this rate so far.
Hold Me - This song is so sweet and amazing. The only issue was that it dragged on a little, but other than that, it was a great album closer. What's the problem
Miracle - Okay. Good song. Next.....
Whatchulookinat - I thought this song was pretty good, and funny in a sense, especially the bridge, "Messin with my reputation, don't even got no education". It coulda gone higher guys....
Thinking About You - Are you f****ing kidding me!!!!!!! This song is awesome. Production coulda been a teensy bit better, but the lyrics, the male and female vocals is awesome!!!! What's with the taste?!?!?!?!
Try It On My Own - One of the best from Just Whitney. A very sweet song, and I loved when she performed it on Boston Public.
Why Does It Hurt So Bad - Again, not a big standout but nice..

Boring as hell. Not the worst though.
Miracle - 3
Corny ass song in a bad way. NOTHING about this song stands out. Even the vocal was whack.

Originally I wanted to give this a 0. Literally an awful song. Messy ass lyrics, and so gimmicky. Even the video was garbage. Whitney is a mess.
Thinking About You - 1
It's an okay song upon further listening but it's SO generic and SO boring.
Try it On My Own - 3
Meh. Another extremely generic song. She has a million songs that sound identical to this...

Missed the rate as I had an exam in the morning but not too gutted over the eliminations so far 
Although I did enjoy Try it On My Own.
Alot of these songs I'm hearing for the first time as I just recently got into her discography thanks to this rate, so my results are pretty honest.
