Year of release: 2013, Genre(s): Melodic Dubstep, Language(s) - English, Album - I Wish (2013)
This is a really pretty song. I remember finding this while listening to random music mixes that are on YouTube, and this stood out to me. There's not really anything particularly special about the song, but I really like it.
"I wish you were here...where do broken hearts go?"
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Pop, Language(s) - English, Album - Unlocked (2014)
This song is really catchy! There's a Spanish part (or at least I think it's Spanish) that always gets stuck in my head when I listen to the song, although I do not have a clue what it actually says. This is one of my favorites on the Unlocked album, but can't quite say it's my fave.

Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Dance Pop, Language(s) - English, Album - Me, You & The Music (2014)
Jessica is back! This was another song I really enjoyed from her Me, You & The Music album, and although I was surprised to find Sia wrote this song, you can kind of tell because of how Jessica Sanchez sings the song. Any time Sia writes a song for someone, the person singing it will try to emulate Sia's unique vocal technique. Some do it better than others, but nobody can do it like Sia. Anyway, this song is a jam with an empowering message.

Year of release: 2012/2014, Genre(s): Electronic, Language(s) - English, Album - Honestly I forgot what the mixtape was called (2014)
Okay, for anyone who has talked to me enough would know, Kesha is my ultimate fave. I honestly adore her so much. Her music, her personality, just...everything. I find her to be flawless. Also, as basically anyone on ATRL would know, this year has been extremely hard to be an Animal, with her going into rehab for an eating disorder, then the whole legal battle with Dr. Luke which we discovered will go on for a few years now...overall, it's just been really testing to be an Animal in 2014.
That's why I love this song so much. This was like that little flickering candle in a pitch black room for many Animals that hadn't already heard this song before. The song showed artistic growth and it felt genuine to Kesha, yet it was also new for her at the same time. I will admit when I heard Kesha was making "non radio-friendly" music, I was a bit worried, but this quashed any doubts I had. This song is honestly an adventure with each listen, and I am crushed that this will probably be all we're getting for a very long time.
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Dance Pop, Language(s) - Korean, Album - Hate You! (2014)
This song is really fitting for my dance party theme, to be honest. It's unrelentingly upbeat from the get-go and keeps you bopping until the end. Also, I'm not entirely positive, but I think this is a breakup song, so...blast thing to forget about your stupid ass ex!

Yay Day 12, although tbh Day 13 is coming shortly after this post because I want to post it while I still feel motivation. If you guessed that Adore wasn't going to be dethroned today, then congratulations because you're right! Adore still stands as the top artist on the countdown...I think it's been a week? Idk, but the top 3 is finally changing!
Jessica Sanchez gained 58 points today, which along with the 31 points she had prior, puts her at 89 points today, making her 3rd in the rankings, dethroning Harlin James and Clav.
Just two points behind Jessica is Alexandra Stan, who gained 57 points today; she Kisses her relatively low spot on the countdown Goodbye for the #4 position! Along with the 30 points she gained previously, she now has 87 points, which places her 20 points above Harlin James & Clav. Speaking of, the duo fell two places, and now fill out the top 5!
As for the other entries today, the K-Pop group Delight enter the chart with 60 points, making them 7 short of the former Top 3 duo mentioned previously. One step behind Delight, we have Kesha, who I would give the top spot to easily if I was including personal biases here.
Filling out the female-dominated day, we have Jeremy De Koste and DJ Swoon (idk why the vocals aren't credited ), who together have 56 points.
Today saw 2 artists in the lower parts of the charts rise to the upper leagues, but will the same happen tomorrow? Will someone FINALLY dethrone Adore? Only way to find out is to come back and see!

Help me come up with something cute here , and come back tomorrow to do it again!
Year of release: 2013, Genre(s): Folk, Language(s) - English, Album - The Hobbit - Desolation of Smaug (Ed Sheeran's Original) (2013)
What an odd song to kick off the Top 40 of my dance party. I will be fully honest here and say I am neither a fan of Lord of the Rings nor Ed Sheeran, but I find this song to be haunting and beautiful. The language in the song is really beautiful to me and it has such a mellow feel for such a dark subject. That mixture is amazing to me.
The reason I also have Alice Olivia credited on here is because I actually heard her cover before Ed's original (it's a long story...), and I was like "Omg Sing bitch!" and I was just slain. Not much else to say except that I tend to like these types of Folk and Celtic songs for some reason.
"Oh misty eye of the mountain below...keep careful watch of my brother's souls..."
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Dance Pop, Language(s) - English, Album - Louder (2014)
I remember finding out about Sharon Doorson through an ATRL thread, it was about artists who were really successful, but local to their country. Although I'm not sure of Sharon Doorson's success in her home country, she's unknown in the States. I, however, really like her!
I remember when I first found out she had a new song and I was excited, and I wasn't disappointed when I heard it! In actuality, I was floored from being slain so hard. It was once a contender for Top 10 songs for me, but...then I grew a bit tired of it. This song just made the Top 40 for the fact that it was a Top 10 contender for a long time, and I still like it, just not as much.
"There's a time bomb tickin in my body tonight, you switch me on cause you got it boy you blowin' my mind..."
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Dance Pop, Language(s) - Korean, Album - 1,2,3 (2014)
Ugh...I really want Purfles to have success. Ever since they've debuted, they've been criminally underrated. They really impressed me with this debut, and nothing about this song feels like they're "new" to K-Pop, let alone from a small company. Everything seems so professional, and they killed the singing and dancing like they've been at it for years.
The song is absolute fire from the beginning, and it doesn't feel tired and recycled like a lot of K-Pop debuts lately. They have character and personality! It's honestly what these other girl groups should aim for when they try to make it in a boy band industry.
I just hope some day, they get their breakout hit a-la "Umbrella" because I NEED others to see what I see in them. So much potential that needs to be fulfilled.
*They'd probably be much more popular if their group name was better...*
37. Alexandra Stan - Cherry Pop [Sonic E & Woolhouse Remix]
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Dance Pop, Language(s) - English, Album - Unlocked (2014)
When I was listening to the album, I thought Cherry Pop was okay, but then I heard this remix, and I was like "Now this is more like it!", and I've used the remix version over the original ever since.
Although I did notice that Alexandra Stan likes the moon light quite a lot, as I think she's mentioned it in every song of hers that's charted on my year end so far.
*Alexandra Stan will appear again on the countdown*
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Dance Pop, Language(s) - English, Album - Mia Martina (2014)
This is such a feel-good upbeat track, which everyone needs once in a while, and obviously something I enjoy being many of the songs on my year end are upbeat dance tracks. It's just hard to feel sad when listening to this song, and the pre-chorus builds so much hype and just makes you want to get up and move! The bridge somewhat annoys me, but I just love the pre-chorus so much that this song charted pretty high.

Wow, Day 13! Guess what guys...WE FINALLY HAVE A NEW #1! Mia Martina, who also happened to be the winner of the day, gained 65 points with "Global Celebration". With 185 points, I guess it is a time to celebrate for Mia Martina.
Seemingly an underdog on the high scores, Alexandra Stan also launches herself into the Top 3, as the 64 points she gained today, along with the 87 she had previously, she now sits at 151 points, just 16 points behind someone who seemed untouchable a few days ago.
Outside of the Top 3 changes...and the Top 5 altogether, Purfles now stand at the #6 spot, as their debut song puts them at 63 points. Shortly behind, we have Sharon Doorson at 62 points, and after her we have both Ed Sheeran and Alice Olivia with 61.
What's interesting to note is that 4 of the Top 5 have at least one more entry on the chart, so it could be anyone's game yet. Some lower peaking artists, like GP Basic for example, also have at least one more entry on the chart, so even they could potentially steal the show. Will the answer as to who will win be so obvious? I guess you'll just have to keep tuning in to find out!
