Last Friday Night only got to number 1 because Billboard has used a double-counting trick. This involves combining the sales from the two different versions of the song and then assigning the combined sales figure to the main version.

Um, yes everyone on atrl has known this since the beginning of time
Why does every artist have to "reinvent" their sound, or music itself. There's only so many times you can "reinvent" something
pretty much nothing is original in the music industry these days aswell... I just think it's ****ing dumb that people feel an artist has to do something to benefit the music industry for the petter in THEIR OPINION... A lot of people like this kind of music, so I don't see how it could be harming the industry.
I like dance/electropop/purepop music and I'm just tired of people bitching and moaning on how the music industry has gone so far downhill, and everythings autotuned, yadda yadda mess. Don't like it, don't ****ing listen. Listen to your damn Pink Floyd, Van Halen, whatever the hell you like and I'll listen to my generic dance pop music.
