The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

This means sometimes it's going to be an album with a ton of sales and little streaming or an album with a ton of streaming but little sales. Point is, it's being massively consumed. Y'all need to deal with it. Besides, outside of streams he still had the best selling album this year not by Adele.

The thing is, technically, he does have promo. It's not good promo or even decent promo, but they're not completely ignoring him. He had Fallon, Kimmel, Ellen, The Breakfast Club, BBC Live Lounge and some iHeart gig and had 2 singles with videos and an official radio push. It's just that nobody cared. Charlamagne literally said that to his face during his interview there and it was awkward as hell, but true.

Hopefully, he'll bounce back with the next record (soon) and get out of Tidal, cause it's one of the factors of his predicament

the weird thing about Usher is I feel like people still care (or cared) about his music but R&B is dead for now and I noticed in his breakfast club interview he kept mentioning Atlanta but like don't get me wrong, Atlanta definitely is influencing some aspects of music but not nearly as much as he kept referencing.

I think Usher is stuck in 2005/2006 like he needs to update and revitalize his music and come up with a new sound/image.

He was supposed to be Bey's equivalent. At one point he was bigger than her by a landslide. This is what happens to artists who trend hop and have mid-life crises. I truly feel bad for R&B artists that just don't know how to adapt and evolve while still remaining current and true to what they're loved for. If he had just went with the Climax sound all the way and made that futuristic sounding R&B his niche, this would not have happened.

Climax was a step in the right directon for him following his previous RvR era (and that EP that followed ). I'm not sure why he or his label decided to scrap it when it began to cross over to pop radio. It was huge on Urban and had a great potential for pop crossover, then they rush release Scream and killed everything.

Very disappointing numbers for Usher. However, this album rollout over the last two years was bad.
