I don't think you get what I'm saying. I mean presenting dance as an art form. Where the choreography mirrors the sound and/or message in the music. Along with this is the marrying of the other technical aspects of dance such as body control. Majority of Beyonce's choreography does not do this. She merely dances as part of her performance, she rarely has crafted choreography that tells the story in the song. However, out of these videos, I will say that that Video Phone performance is close to the point I'm making.
Also @ Mr. Wonder, I think your concept of hip-hop dance and its roots is quite off. There's a freestyle aspect to it that's celebrated for individuality. You CAN overextend moves, exaggerate your alignment, and all these other "no-nos" if it serves the purpose of the choreography and looks well executed.

What's quite off is your understanding of dance from a technical and expressive standpoint. What is so difficult about grasping the concept that technical skills are needed in ALL styles of dance? They are the basis for all movement that occurs in a dance composition. Technical and expressive are vastly different in presentation and understanding.
"Overextend moves, and exaggerate your alignment". This makes absolutely no sense. You're attempting to blur the lines between technical and expressive skills and you can't do that because they focus on different principles. "Looks well executed"? Looks are deceiving.

True, with Britney you don't even know if she's going to make it till the end of her performance + ur always surprised if she hits 1 move out of 20. It's truly exciting.
