Taylor Swift "22" Red
As many people thinks, Taylor is an amazing songwriter but for once I liked to see her release a single not about her personal relationships. She showed this cool and fun side of her to prove us she can also have a good time with her friends, so good for her.
Vampire Weekend "Ya Hey" Modern Vampires Of The City
One of the things I dislike about artists is when they don’t release music videos from their official singles; this song is an example of it, especially when VW has so many great music videos. Vampire Weekend has one more appearance on my list.
Naughty Boy feat. Sam Smith "La La La" Hotel Cabana
I just couldn’t resist to this song, it’s just so catchy. What really amazes me is the amount of youtube views of the music video since the song hasn’t exploded in USA yet. I’m looking forward for more music from NB and especially Sam Smith.
The Script "Hall Of Fame" #3
The Script’s music is sometimes so boring but in this case this song is so great. The song already appeared on my last year’s Best Of 2012, but I think it deserves to be on my list again. By the way I only use the version with The Script only and not with that irrelevant and generic singer which name I won’t say.
J. Cole feat. Miguel "Power Trip" Born Sinner
Out of the bunch of R&b and rap singers, J. Cole actually released the right singles. I didn’t have enough space to put his song Crooked Smile but Power Trip earned a place, and this song remains as one of my favorite R&b collaborations of this year.
Hunter Hayes "Wanted" Hunter Hayes
I thought this guy would be a one hit wonder by now, I don’t find his voice appealing but songs like this one have a great melody and lyrics. This is his only entry this year because his other single got old for me kind of quickly.
OneRepublic "If I Lose Myself" Native
Second song by 1R on my countdown, this song used to be one of my least favorites on Native, but after hearing a remix it started to grow on me again, the production is the highlight of the song. One more song from 1R left on my list.
Alice In Chains "Hollow" The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here
One of the last songs I included on my list. I usually enjoy any kind of rock songs, except the ones where the lead vocalist starts to scream out of control or the music is too laud, but this song has the perfect balance between vocals and melody.
Rihanna "Diamonds" Unapologetic
Another good year for Rihanna, she currently has the #1 song in USA. At first I didn’t like Diamonds, I felt it was flat but eventually the line Shine Bright like a Diamond got stuck in my head, and the music video is really good in my opinion. Rihanna will appear on my top 50 with another song.
Ellie Goulding "Burn" Halcyon Days
One more and final entry for Ellie this year. Her voice sometimes could be weak but the productions of her songs and music videos are interesting enough for her to make like her music. Right now I’m enjoying her new song How Long Will I Love You, hopefully it can achieve some success after seeing how well Burn is doing on the charts right now.
Diamonds and Burn are good.
Power Trip is amazing! but my favorite from this set is La La La! one of the best songs from 2013, love the lyrics, music video, Sam Smith's vocals... everything is epic
