Now if you look black with just lighter skinned, people sometimes will meet you with hostility if you rather be referred to as mixed/biracial.

GURL How did beyonce take r&b to another level? Brandy, Aaliyah and Janet and Tina Took r&b to that next level, they trully experimented. Beyonce is really one dimensional yall give her too much.

Beyonce is just riding the wave Janet and Tina created! She has done nothing that has not been done before.

I don't think Rihanna nor Beyonce should be ahead of anybody b4 them, they still have way more to prove.

Beyoncé's vocal stylings are nothing like Janet or Tina's.

Beyoncé's sound and music is unique. How is her music not experimental with songs like Ring the Alarm, Single Ladies, Get Me Bodied, Video phone, ***Flawless, Yoncé, Run the World, Ghost and Countdown? Great examples of her vocal stylings too. Her signature staccato singing, vocal-centric songs and hip hop fused sound will go down in history.

What I love about Beyoncé is that she doesn't do hip hop like other pop artists. Her hip hop-soul songs sound nothing like Mary J Blige or Mariah Carey's. Beyoncé actually raps, like in Upgrade U or Drunk in Love. Her rap-singing is so convincing, she sounds more like an MC than a singer at times. Just listen to Diva.

Yeah Ike Turner was an incredible muscian and he mostly influenced Rock music. Back then rock n roll and soul was pretty much connected though so obviously Ike and Tina influenced all kinds of vocalists and performers.

She however did not experiment that much with R&B (she did experiment with Disco) and contemporary R&B as we know it is not at all influenced by Tina Turner. I don't hear any obvious influences. I assumed that was what we're talking about.
