I'd definitely save my dog. And to avoid the backlash I'd say my dog was drowing faster and that I thought that I could have gone back to save the kid. Although in reality I wouldn't because A) Not a great swimmer B) My dog is too childish, he would follow me into water or scape if I let him alone at shore. Sorry kid

I probably wouldn't notice the kid since I wouldn't be responsible for him. My dog is classically trained and thus never more than 15 feet away from me.

I'd end up saving my dog and probably not knowing some kid was even drowning.

How do you know that that child wasn't going to be on of your family members soul mate?

Who doesn't want kids or some sort of child to carry on their names?
Even if the child isn't related to you, are you that mentally unstable that you can't see that a humans life is more important?
