James Morrison "I Won't Let You Go"
It's been a while since I last heard from James Morrison. He's a great singer, most of his songs are easy to relate to and it seems he likes keeping it simple. This song is nowhere near from the epicness of "Broken Strings" but well, I can make do with it.
Blake Shelton "God Gave Me You"
A very romantic country song. Blake's style is somehow more mature than most of the artists that I listen to, but I can tell that he's very sincere. Next year I'll be keeping an eye on country artists like him.
Drake Bell "Terrific"
I gotta admit at first I thought Drake was just one of those guys who endorse middle school TV shows/movies and then seek for a popstar career. In the end, he actually did that, but he never stopped being himself selling his image to the media. Kuddos to Mr. Bell!
Kris Allen "Alright With Me"
Kris needs to come back. He's one of the best American Idols since Kelly Clarkson herself. He had his feet firm on the ground since day one. He writes hiw own songs and he has a great voice. AWM is a very cheerful song, he had better tracks on his album but well it's better than nothing.
Natasha Bedingfield "Weightless"
And talking about underrated artists here's another sad case. I think Natasha's biggest mistake was attempting to breakthrough in America. I mean, she had a couple of hits in the States, but she should have never forgotten about her European fans the way she did. Anyway Weightless was just so lovely to be left unreleased.
Hot Chelle Rae "I Like It Like That"
From the ashes of the unavoidable Tonight Tonight emerged this song as HCR's second single. At first I thought it was okay. But meh, it got old way too fast, and despite how much I like a couple of their songs, I still think they bring nothing new to the table.
The Script "Science & Faith"
Getting late bloomer hits is becoming The Script's signature. They released like 4 singles this year and people are still stuck in the 2nd one. Anyway, I still don't feel "Nothing" and I got tired of FTFT really fast, but after IYECB I gave them a second chance and I liked what I heard.
Train "Save Me San Francisco"
I knew they would eventually release this song as a single. It's so catchy, I might say I like it better than "Hey Soul Sister", the problem is, I had already played it a lot of times before its official release and that pretty much screwed its run in my personal cd.
Within Temptation "Sinéad"
Second and last appearance of this band. This song just comes as proof of how versatile this band actually is. It's still a typical rock song but it has this touch of electronic sound that makes it sound really cool. Unfortunatelly I didn't like any other song from this album.
Adele "Set Fire To The Rain"
Adele certainly hit us all like a school bus this year. Totally unexpected. This song is just waiting to smash, it has the feeling, the voice, the strenght.... I really hope she promotes it correctly once she comes back from her surgery, I need this official video in my life.
