If you look back at history and tell me that marriage, the control of women, all that is not made to control the masses and create a sense of order in times when there was not democracy, and so you needed to literally control people. By saying women are ****s who have sex outside of marriage, it forces them to get married, have babies and then raise them to be the “good christians” (or whatever religion enforcing sex within marriage) of the next generation.

I'm not about to have these intense arguments over Kim K's attention seeking ways. She did it for attention, not to empower women. The pics isn't even recent. She's the wrong face for this argument. And no one is saying that she shouldn't be naked. People are saying they're tired of her get naked for attention methods. PERIOD.
These long, drawn out arguments over attention whoring is ridiculous and the comparisons to parallel it to real feminist struggles is ****ing idiotic.

Ya I thought it was funny how she was like "omg you guys actually think this is recent? Thanks!".. when she knew that people would automatically think a picture she is posting right now is going to be recent.
She was definitely looking for attention, no one brings back an old photo to share with the world unless they want to brag about it, as its just sharing your current moment.
But there is a feminist argument to happen here. The critique she got was not just about her trying to get attention. So much of it was aimed at calling her a ****, *****, a poor wife and mother, etc. etc. and that was just because of her body being shown.

right?
How many times do we have to say this? This is NOT about Kim being a woman. This is NOT about Kim being naked. This is about Kim building an empire by selling her body and sex, promoting an unhealthy image and lifestyle for women and young girls, coming out with a statement saying she's empowering women to feel confident in their own skin and to embrace their flaws, when she herself doesn't.
Had Kim done something great in her life, and worth mentioning, had Kim fought for women's rights and equity, had Kim done charity, had Kim given back to the world, had Kim showcased any talent to justify her popularity and celebrity status, NO ONE would be coming for her for posting naked photos. But that's literally ALL she has to offer. It's promoting an unhealthy image. Girls thinking they can get ahead in life by using their bodies and images. Do you not see how many little Kim Kardashians have popped up on Instagram these years? Women feel empowered by a few likes and how many followers they have, by showing off their bodies. Do you not see how wrong that is?
Not to mention these ridiculous beauty standards she has set for today's society. Kim and any Kim Kardashian out there.
I'm sorry for not wanting my daughter to grow up in a world where women believe the only way to get ahead in life is by selling their bodies, as proven and promoted by Kim, and to feel insecure about her looks as she wont' fit in with society's beauty standards.
Yes, I WILL speak out against Kim. And that doesn't make me a sexist or a misogynist. It makes me a reasonable human being who's afraid of what the future might look like, if we continue with this mentality.

The fact that she is most of that, I won't argue against. She does have a young daughter. You think it's a good presentation that her daughter is going to grow up and see how and why her mother was famous, despite having none of the qualities one would deem necessary for fame-talent?
For Kim, it wasn't just this one pic. Her entire existence has been a half-naked, no talent mess. The point being made that young girls should and do have more to offer than just their bodies is valid. And is what Pink said and there is not shred of false information in her post. People can continue to fume, but no one with good sense is ever going to respect women who become famous off of association and doesn't possess any talent or self-respect.
Don't take a feminist stand and try to apply to Kim K. because she simply isn't a good representation.

Lol this is why the Africans, Indians and Asian immigrants in America are winning. Dragging P!nk for saying young people should aim higher than being a thot. Saying it's misogyny. This is what Emily Davison was fighting for yeah right. Shame that they are now using feminism to hold women to lower standards.

Basically this. This is what it boils down to. Don't worry about trying to get educated and don't worry about working hard. Go get cosmetic surgery, hop on Instagram, and post your privates so you can get a million likes and become a #badbitch.

Parts of her statement come off a bit odd, but Amber's right in her point
A lot of the public criticism in the situation comes from the general dislike of the Kardashians and everything they do.

Where has common sense and logic gone? The fact that people are arguing AGAINST the statement that women have more to offer than just their bodies says enough. And to throw some false feminism in to defend their positions. WOW. They are defending women who got famous for ****ing famous men, they've built an empire based off the men they've dated, they built an empire off of artificial beauty standards, standards that are getting young girls killed from imitation, because society is force feeding this fake model of beauty on us. But we're the misogynist for advocating for women to aim higher and be smarter? Well, I guess since we're redefining words nowadays.

Should Kate Moss' children be ashamed of her mother, who has appeared nude many times and still does and whose entire existence is based on her appearance alone? It's two different types of modelling, and making a career from your appearance.
Kim is inspirational for taking a bad situation and being able to spin it into an empire. If Kim had the sextape and then decided to become a secretary, does that make her a better role model? We're getting too caught up in sex being something shameful. Women should be able to show their entire naked body and not have their intelligence questioned because of it. I don’t think Kim is a very bright person altogether but attacking her intelligence based on her body being shown is a dangerous and poorly conceived way of getting a point across.
P!nk failed to make her great point because she went on an attack, and insinuated that anyone who shows their body lacks pride and self-respect. That’s **** shaming 101.

there's is nothing wrong with nudity and it is fine to be proud of your skin and body, but it's in the way you use it. Kim Kardashian is not using her body in a positive way, saying how she has her flaws yet photoshop them and get herself implants and such.
When you sell your body, you are a sex object which is exactly what Kim K. is doing and how she got her fame and money. Not thru music, acting, politics, etc. just selling her image, her body. Which is something that feminism is against. Don't let people like Amber Rose and Kim Kardashian teach you right from wrong, as some of her supporters even said about Kim K. how she lacks intelligence. Is that the people you look up to and side with?
We all have bodies, you should be proud of your body, but not use it as sexual object and try to sell it to other people. It belongs to you, not the products. Kim K.'s and Amber's beauty standars aren't even natural, they all have flaws that they clearly tried to fix it with plasic surgery to fit and promote it to other women on how they should look and to men to want to have a woman looking like them. You should notice the bigger picture in this issue.

Basically arguing for Kim in this circumstance does not mean you condone and agree with her unfair beauty standards she imposes on the world and all that. It’s two different conversations. And P!nk as merely talking about showing boobs and asses.

If anything they should be ashamed that she was and maybe still is a coke addict. Kim isn't modeling for clothes. She's not a model. You're trying to take someone who's entire existence is based off of sex tape, nudity, and faux beauty and compare it to people who actually aimed to get recognition for a talent and skill they possess. STOP.
You can cape for Kim all day. I'll leave you to it. There's only so many times I'm going to repeat myself.
